“Incredible Property and Hospitality”
Reviewed November 13, 2011

First of all, this property is beautiful. Lots of attention to detail. The garden is amazing with waterfalls, fountains, and a fire pit. We stayed in the Robert Frost Room, which was the original master bedroom. Lots of room, comfortable, and nice furnishings. Breakfast was first class and the owners came to join us, even though they do not live on the property. Ralph and Frank are hilarious and love to meet people. They also joined us for a cocktail hour in the dining room. The Inn is very close to downtown and Biltmore Village. We went Ziplining only 3 miles away at the Wildwater Canopy Adventures, which I also recommend. Beds are comfortable and showers have plenty of hot water, despite a full house. Lots of CD's, DVD's, and books for you to enjoy. The staff is friendly and helpful. I can't say anything bad about this place!

We had a wonderful stay here this past month.
Kudos to Frank and Ralph for their attention to detail; everyone here on staff
is just super attentive, polite and service oriented.

We stayed in the Emily Dickenson room and just loved the location. Easy distance to downtown and access to all areas.

The house as a whole is comfortable, warm and charming.
A lot of attention to detail with period furnishings; the house exudes charm, warmth and coziness. The old is upfront; the modern is tastefully kept in the background.

Great hosts and conversations with all for morning breakfasts really added to the feeling of
being home.

We have stayed in a few upscale B&B's; Whitegate is a winner and deserves the reputation it has.

In celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary, we stayed at the WhiteGate Inn. The Oscar Wilde suite was very comfortable and private. We thoroughly enjoyed the gourmet breakfast as well as the social hour which gave us the opportunity to get to know our hosts, Frank and Ralph, their adorable dogs, Ida Mae and Striker, and converse with some of the other guests. We loved Asheville and feel as though we just barely scratched the surface of what this great city has to offer.
This is the best B&B!!!!!

Our first trip to Asheville and we were so lucky to have stayed at the White Gate Inn! Our 25th anniversary, a great suite, charming hosts, fun happy hours with other guests, and stupendous breakfasts (although they hold you until dinner!) Frank and Ralph were attentive hosts. The staff is delightful. One of our favorite evenings was after dinner, sitting by the pond in with Amaretto on the rocks (courtesy of the Inn!), looking at the stars, and feeling more relaxed than we had in years! The Ralph Waldo Emerson suite was private, quite, and luxurious. Wonderfully romantic jacuzzi tub. Can't wait to go back!

A visit to Asheville without a stay at Whitegate? Never! This is the best B&B in Asheville and one of the best in the country! Frank and Ralph and the doggies are great hosts and full of warm greetings and hospitality throughout our visit. We especially enjoyed the Joyce Kilmer Suite in the cottage. With two couples, you have lots of space to catch up with old friends as well as join new friends in the main house whenever you feel like it. The best of all worlds.

We stayed at the Whitegate Inn & Cottage in September 2011 for 4 nights. It is in an excellent location, and only a short walking distance to the town. Frank and Ralph are wonderful hosts. The house and gardens are fabulous. We were in the Dorothy Park room which was elegant and modern, very comfortable bed and lovely furnishings.. There is so much attention to detail that there was nothing we needed to ask for. Restaurant suggestions, touring suggestions, cold drinks, hot drinks, cake and biscuits freely available and a social hour each day at 5pm with wine really gives such a lovely touch to making the stay so welcoming. Breakfasts were amazing, an enjoyable event with 3 courses of delicious food. Frank is an excellent entertainer and breakfast was an event we have never experienced before and thoroughly enjoyed. Frank has 2 corgis, Ida Clair (or I declare not sure which is correct))and Striker, beautiful friendly dogs. We had a wonderful stay here and was sorry to leave. If we visit Asheville again we will definitely stay here.
Thanks Frank, Ralph and all the team for making our stay so wonderful. Natalie & Kevin UK
