The Lion and The Rose Bed and Breakfast

We really enjoyed our week-end and The Lion and Rose. The B&B is comfortable with many places both in the house and the in the garden to enjoy a quiet conversation or read a book. Coffee was delievered to our room every morning at 8:00 am. The breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed talking with the other quests while we ate. There is a quest pantry with drinks, cookies, and snacks available 24 hours and day. Ask Jim and Linda for restaurant suggestions. They recommended some really great places for us to eat. A wonderful place for a peaceful get away.

My wife and I had a wonderful visit and discovered a great place to relax and unwind. Jim and Linda are wonderful hosts and the service is superb. The breakfasts are truly special and the gardens are beautiful. Cedric (Jim and Linda's fox terrier) was another joy that we met on this visit. We look forward to a reurn visit.

Sincerely,
Joe and Maryann G.

We just got back from five days at The Lion and The Rose B & B. Our suite was elegant, beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast every morning was fresh, delicious and catered perfectly to our needs. The indoor and outdoor shared spaces were quiet and welcoming. And the location was excellent - close to all that Asheville has to offer as well as convenient for accessing roads for day trips to other areas. Our stay was totally delightful! Thanks to Jim and Linda for creating such a relaxing and enjoyable get-away environment.

My husband and I went to Asheville, NC for our honeymoon. We stayed at The Lion & The Rose, I had seen pictures of the place online but the pictures don't do the b&b justice. Once you actually see the b&b in person it is amazing. The innkeepers, Jim & Linda, offered to bring breakfast up to our room our last morning their since we were celebrating our honeymoon. We stayed in the Craig-Toms Suite, and I must say that the queen size bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, I got a great 3 nights sleep. Even the pictures of sample breakfast menus don't do the food justice. Jim is an amazing cook and the food is excellent; I wish I could have brought Jim home with me to cook my breakfast every morning, a bowl of cereal is not the same after you have eaten Jim Palmer breakfasts. The garden at the b&b is beautiful and relaxing. They also gave us directions to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Biltmore and the directions were amazing, we didn't get lost. We highly recommend The Lion and The Rose Bed & Breakfast for anyone traveling to the Asheville area.

My fiance and I picked Asheville for our Valentine's day destination this year. After some research we stumbled upon the Lion and the Rose. This was our first experiance at a bed and breakfast and it won't be our last!
We pulled up to the B&B in the middle of a snow storm, the house was so welcoming looking. Our room was big, but warm and cozy. The front porch and side garden made us wish we were there in the summer time to actually be able to enjoy it.
The Inn keepers were so nice, they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, they also helped us figure out somethings to do in downtown Asheville. The breakfasts were AMAZING! The Butler's pantry with hot Coco and sodas was such a thoughtful touch, and a nice treat after walking around in the snow all day!
This place is great for a romantic weekend away, its a short walk to downtown Asheville and from there there is so much to do. We really enjoyed the walking Food Tour around Asheville where we got to try to much yummy food!
I have already recomended the lion and the Rose to many friends.

What a wonderful place to stay! To begin with, Jim and Linda have thought about every detail they would want at a Bed and Breakfast for themselves and made sure to spoil the guests with them. The coffee by your bedroom door in the morning, the sumptuous breakfasts, the 24 hour pantry with goodies, coffee, tea, water, soda, sherry and port, the emergency drawer filled with those occasionally forgotten things at home (like razors, Tylenol, shaving cream), the casual conversation and recommendations around town....all were just perfect. They didn't try to overwhelm and they didn't leave you wishing you had something more. Having stayed in several B&B's in Asheville, we would say The Lion and The Rose was the right balance of everything people could want for a relaxing few days away from the hectic day to day life.

We stayed here only one night on a quick trip to Asheville. Due to a winter storm and horrible traffic, we arrived a little later than expected. The hosts were so gracious and recommended a place to eat only about a block away. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was delicious!! We had a wonderful time - not sure how anyone could offer a poor rating for this one.
