The Lion and The Rose Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #10 of 39 Asheville B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence

This B&B is run by a wonderful couple and the breakfast here is truly amazing! The room was quiet and comfortable, and the location is close to town - you can walk if the weather is nice and you are a little ambitious. I have already recommended this B&B to my family and friends and would not hesitate to stay again.

We would highly recommend the Lion and the Rose B&B for a romantic and quiet getaway. The home is beautiful and very immaculate. Our hosts , Linda and Jim, were kind , gracious and couldn't be more accommodating. The gourmet breakfasts were creative and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back again!!! The B&B was beautiful. It was in a great location, the accommodations were very comfortable, the food was out of this world, and the hosts were lovely. I can't say enough good things about The Lion and The Rose.

Our experience at this b & b was wonderful. The hosts, Jim and Linda were gracious and kind. We felt very nurtured and relaxed during our stay. The food was really good and the location can't be beat. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Fannie Rice Room which was surprisingly spacious. It overlooked the beautiful garde...

I've always been skeptical about bed and breakfasts, but my (now) fiance booked us a room here the night we got engaged. We stayed on the top floor. It is an older house but the room was perfect. There was a living room, a sitting room in the bedroom a changing room, a balcony and a large tub in the bathroom. They welcomed us when we walked in and knew who we were. The owners brought coffee to our door before they cooked a wonderful pancake breakfast the next morning. They even made gluten free pancakes for me, which were fantastic! They even shared the recipe with us! One thing I did notice, was I'm not sure there is air conditioning. The weather was perfect and we did not need it at the time, but if you are a person who needs the AC, you might want to ask. I would DEFINITELY recommend staying here. It's close to the Biltmore and downtown. I can't wait to return!

Room Tip: If you book the room on the 3rd floor, you will have the entire 3rd floor to yourself. I image that...

Thanks so much for the great review!!

We do want to point out that during the warmer months (which are here now) we install air conditioners in all of our guest rooms and we just purchased two very quiet ones for the Craig Toms Suite. They are removed during the cooler months to conserve energy.

The Lion and the Rose is perhaps the best B&B we have stayed at. The breakfasts were outstanding- best pancakes ever. The room comfortable and the "public rooms" beautifully furnished and decorated Coffee delivered to the room was a unique touch for us. If you can make your reservation well ahead this is the place

My boyfriend and I take an annual trip to celebrate our birthdays which are 11 days apart. This year we chose to see Asheville and discovered The Lion and the Rose B&B. We have stayed at several B&Bs but the Lion and The Rose surpassed any expectations we had! Not only is the inn within walking distance of downtown, but it is absolutely beautiful (set off the street, pretty gardens and decor) -- great touches abound from chocolates in pretty candy dishes in every room, an assortment of cookies, brownies, biscotti, tea & coffee, soft drinks and water available 24/7. Coffee and tea were delivered like clockwork to our door every day at 8 am. Jim is the chef and his breakfasts could be featured in Gourmet magazine. Every morning was a culinary adventure. Yum! We couldn't wait from one morning to the next to see what was offered. Also, Linda's table was beautifully set with gorgeous china and flowers. Jim and Linda gave us suggestions of special happenings in Asheville and were always available for any request. By far, one of the best B&Bs we have ever experienced! ~ Susan and Alan
