“Beautiful Bed & Breakfast- with AMAZING food!”

The Lion and the Rose was just perfect for us! The breakfasts in the morning are outstanding- our second morning consisted of homemade flatbread with ricotta cheese, mozzarella, eggs, truffle oil, and pancetta- there are no words to describe the deliciousness! The location is perfect- it's not in center city, but it is absolutely walk-able, so it's ideal. And there is great hiking less than 10 minutes away. We loved the entire weekend!

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor in the Craig Toms suite. It's extremely roomy- with a separate liv...

This was our 2nd year in a row staying at "The Lion and The Rose", we come to Asheville every year to attend a conference, The Lion and The Rose is very close to where we have to go. Close to down town, But the best part : They were the only B&B that would make our breakfast early so we could get to our conference on time. The Breakfast ,, yummm, so delicious, the house is simlpy gorgeous, and the room, so cozy and quite, our bed was so comfortable ... We will return again and again.. They are such wonderful host. You too will LOVE this B&B..

My wife and I spent three delightful days here. Innkeepers Jim and Linda were gracious hosts, the home setting and landscaping are charming and the location was close enough for a healthy walk downtown. One key reason we chose this place was the option for vegan breakfasts and Jim's delicious (and filling) vegan breakfast creations were a real treat for us. We enjoyed the coffee/tea delivered to our room each morning. The nearby restaurant (just a block away) also provided us many good veg options. When we return to Asheville we hope to stay again at the Lion & Rose.

We have stayed at many B&Bs and we would have to place this one in the top two faves!! Innkeepers Jim and Linda were the most friendly, gracious hosts we have met!! The decor was so beautiful and tastefully done. The bed was Heavenly!! The dining table for breakfast was so beautiful I would have expected to see the queen!! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, walked around to look at the enormous front porch and gardens, then had to leave this little slice of Heaven. Look forward to coming back in the spring to see the gardens in bloom!!

Room Tip: No pool. I couldn't "uncheck" that box.

This was the perfect one night Valentine's getaway for my husband and I. The innkeepers were very nice and the inn itself provides everything you could need and more. A pantry full of goodies, movies to watch, robes to lounge in, complimentary sherry and port wine for a night cap, coffee delivered to your room in the morning. And of course a deviously prepared breakfast. For us that consisted of coffee, juice, fresh berries, omelets, turkey sausage, whole grain toast and local jam! Jim is a great cook. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was comfortable. The common areas were also nice to relax and read a book or fit by the fire. We were the only ones around for hours so it felt like we had the house to ourselves! Very close to downtown where you'll find lots of shops and restaurants. Jim suggested Limones for dinner and it was incredible. Go there if you get a chance. The Lion and The Rose was everything we imagined and more. We will be back!

This was my boyfriends first stay in a bed and breakfast and we both had an absolutely wonderful time.

Jim and Linda are friendly and available, yet are not "helicopter innkeepers", which we enjoyed. My boyfriend and I were running late. I called and they were extremely nice and accommodating. They left our room key with instructions and it was very easy to follow.

The house was beautiful and Linda does a fantastic job with her decorating. We stayed in the Margaret Grace, which was on the smaller size, but we enjoyed how cozy, comfortable and intimate the room was. Bathroom was on the smaller size, but still very nice and perfect for what little time we spent in there. Loved the details, like the chocolate bowls everywhere, the 24-hour pantry (so amazing) and the movie library. We were the first couple in the new bed and it was amazing. Jim's breakfast was absolutely delicious (we left so full!) and he could not have been more accommodating to my gluten free needs. Cedric was an added treat and we loved getting to spend some time with him!

The inn was close to the downtown. Jim and Linda were very warm, friendly and inviting and it was clear that they are seasoned pros when it comes to hospitality. Everything was meticulously cleaned and for the price, we were staying in luxury. If we are ever in Asheville in the future, we will certainly be back. Thank you Jim and Linda for such a wonderful experience!

Room Tip: The Margaret Grace is smaller yet cozy and intimate. Other rooms looked beautiful as well.
