We called Cumberland Falls Bed & Breakfast two days before we arrived there (being our 25th wedding anniversary), as the inn we had booked three months prior had double booked us, leaving us without a place for our anniversary. We went back onto the internet and found this inn. Gary and Patti were SO receptive to us, calling on our cell the day of our staying, giving us detailed directions to their lovely inn. Upon arrived, we loved the gardens and the home. It was great to have off-street parking also. Gary gave us a map of the town with his address and cell phone number on it, in case we got lost (VERY organized), had car trouble or any questions, and two books of restaurant menus, one alphabetical and one by cuisine. The breakfast was wonderful, and the guest we ate with were great to talk to. It was so relaxing to sit in the garden with the Celtic music playing softly. I had the neat experience of feeding the coi fish out of my hand -- really cool! I thank Gary and Patti for helping make our 25th anniversary a memorable one.

We just returned from a wonderful and relaxing stay At Cumberland Falls B&B. This was the first B&B stay for this couple-and we loved it. The rooms were very clean and nicely furnished-we took a peek at most of them. We stayed in the Sunshine room on the top floor. The Sunshine is the smallest room in the house, but perfect for a couple or a single person's get-a-way. The room was comfortable, however, the walls do slope and it may not be the best choice for a tall person, that said, we truly enjoyed our stay in this room ( the jacuzzi tub was great!).
The breakfasts were phenomenal 3 course wonders. You marvel that you can finish it all (of course, you can't help yourself!).
Heather, the concierge, is fabulous and so helpful. The owners Gary and Patti are wonderful and gracious hosts-providing just the right mix of hospitality and privacy. The extra touches such as bed turn down with chocolates, chocolate covered strawberries our second night (thanks for saving them in the frig Heather!), and chocolate truffles our last night (thanks Gary and Patti), were very pleasant surprises. The common areas, front porch, Koi pond/falls, and the gardens are also fantastic. Definitely a place to make an extended stay-so much to see and do. Thank you Gary, Patti and Heather for making our stay so enjoyable! We will be back.

We stayed at Cumberland Falls Inn as a part of our honeymoon, and our experience was excellent!
Heather, our concierge, was extremely helpful tended to our needs. Every night they turned down our bed and left us chocolate truffles which was a nice touch. On our last night, they left rose petals in the jacuzzi and chocolate covered strawberries on a cold marble stone by our bed. Very nice!
Breakfast every morning was exquisite. You won't need much / if any lunch. Our first morning there was only one other couple in the building so we had breakfast in the sun room. Pick a good seat so the sun isn't in your eyes. The chef prepared eggs Benedict (real hollandaise!) with potatoes Provence and a poached pear. On the last day, the house was packed so we at in the main dining room. The owners made Belgian with whipped cream and sausage. Delicious!
The place has such a nice atmosphere making conversation with other guests easy. The owners were nice enough to let us feed the koi in their backyard pond.
The day we went to the Biltmore estate we had car trouble, but the owner had provided us with his cell phone number, and he was able to quickly direct us to the local mechanic who was helpful.
This was just a wonderful experience all-around, and I highly recommend Cumberland Falls Inn.

We just spent 3 nights at Cumberland Falls. We stay at B&Bs for all of our vacations and Cumberland Falls was one of the exceptional ones. Patti and Gary are excellent hosts. They made you feel like part of the family. The breakfasts were outstanding and we always walked away thinking they can't be any better but they were. The gardens were lovely and a great place to sit and relax. We cannot remember a more beautiful setting in all of our B&B travels than the gardens at Cumberland Falls. We stayed in the Natural Mystic room which had the best two person jacuzzi. We peeked in some of the other rooms and they were all nicely decorated. The entire house was spotless and neat. Even the outdoor patio and garden tables and chairs were clean every day. We cannot say enough about Cumberland Falls and hope we have an opportunity to return there again soon.

Everything was perfect. I was in town just for a night for business and this B&B was great!

A lovely old house, the rooms are beautiful and well appointed with thoughtful extras and all of the things you need. The public spaces are nice and welcoming. You actually WANT to hang out in them. It's not stuffy at all.

The owners and staff are gracious and accomodating. They know EVERYTHING!

Breakfast is a three course affair and is delicious!!

Don't miss it!

We just returned from our 4 night stay at Cumberland Falls and cannot begin to say how much we enjoyed it. This was our first time at a B&B and didn't know what expect...we haven't stopped talking about it yet. The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, quiet and serene. Everything we were hoping for and more!!! The breakfasts were delicious (everything you're read about them is true) and the presentation very impressive. We enjoyed meeting and chatting with the other guests. Heather was very helpful in giving us directions and recommendations. W arrived to our room one evening and were surprised with a dish of chocolate covered strawberries (DELICIOUS!!!!). Gary and Patti are wonderful!! Tommy (my fiancee) and I really enjoyed talking with them...We feel so fortunate that we found Cumberland Falls and cannot wait for our next vist. Thanks again to Gary, Patti and Staff!!!

The owners of Cumberland Falls Inn, Gary and Patti, were absolutely fantastic. Patti had just made German chocolate cake and lemon shortbread cookies when we arrived. She bakes every day. We enjoyed talking with them, and they were extraordinarily helpful throughout our visit in giving us tips for activities around Asheville. They even directed us to beautiful trails we could never have found otherwise, trails to two glorious waterfalls in the mountains. Patti & Gary are extremely well organized, with printed directions to just about anywhere you might want to go. They gave us superb restaurant recommendations each evening and offered to call ahead to make reservations. They even surprised us with chocolate (more like fudge) covered strawberries. There was a fresh rose from the garden in our room, and everything was sparkling clean. There was not a speck of dirt on the wooden floors. The decor was beautiful, not fussy. Many B&B's have a worn, musty feeling and are not always clean--this one was perfect. In the mornings Gary served us huge 3-course breakfasts which were very tasty. You will find chocolate throughout the house. The gardens are lovely too. You can easily walk into town (15 min), drive to the BlueRidge Pkwy (10-15 min), to the Biltmore Estate (6 miles). If you want to drive into town parking is $4/day. Must go to the Lauging Seed for amazing vegetarian food. But "At Cumberland Falls" is the best part, with a million little extra touches (DVDs, coffee, tea, baked goods anytime, a tiny light in case you want to read in bed at night without disturbing your partner)--you will feel relaxed and pampered. The Natural Mystic room is terrific, with a jacuzzi tub. Our visit was magical and we will definitely be back!
