This is a traditional bed and breakfast where the friendly host and staff members make you feel as though you are a pampered guest. There are homemade sweets on offer all day (shortbread one day and chocolate chip cookies the next), and the freezer has a selection of other sweet treats. Port is available for sipping in front of the cozy fireplace in the front room and there's even a draft beer dispenser. But the made-from-scratch breakfasts were the highlight for us. They make their own yogurt and granola for starters and the main dishes were interesting, delicious and beautifully plated. At Chestnut Street Inn, they provide robes and slippers and plenty of space. When we travel, we look for lots of towels (we were offered more towels the second day without having to ask), good lighting in the bathroom and easily accessible electrical outlets. We found all these at the inn. Our hosts couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome, and we definitely hope to stay here the next time we're in Asheville

This Inn/B&B is wonderful. it is convenient to everything in Ashville. The touchless check-in was easy and quick. Emilie was very accommodating for Breakfast and met my wife's needs. Coffee, wine, cookies, and ice cream was available after a day on the town, Emilie recommended sites for the day and had a fun map to make things easier. Really loved the 6 pillows on the bed and had a good night's sleep. Area very quiet. Job well done Emilie!

We stayed at Chestnut Street Inn for a few days in December. Emilie was such a pleasure to work with from modifying the reservation, to identifying a dog sitter for our stay, to finding trivia nights, to providing an in-depth itinerary of things to do and places to eat, to cooking an amazing breakfast and delicious cookies. The inn was spotless, the room quite comfortable and the port at the end of the evening (okay, afternoon) delightful. Thank you Emilie for a lovely visit to Asheville, we will be back.

Just came back from my second stay at this fantastic bed and breakfast. I sleep so well here. It is the perfect location. The food is outstanding, like nothing I have had before. So much thought & care is put into everything they do. Loved the fresh baked cookies while sitting in a rocking chair on the sunny front porch. This time we stayed in a suite and it was perfect for our mother daughter get away!

I honestly don’t know where to begin! From the minute my wife and I walked through the door at the chestnut street Inn we felt something special, something different about his place compared to the many other B&Bs that we have stayed at. Emily and her staff were so welcoming from the time we entered the house on day one until the last minute of the day we left. It was such a refreshing experience in todays world. The Inn is absolutely beautiful! Our room was big and so clean. The entire house is nothing but first class. The bed was amazing and the bathroom was huge! We felt at home with all of the daytime offerings of fresh baked cookies, wine, local beer on tap and of course the fridge full of ice cream. Breakfast time is an experience! Emily cooks a gourmet breakfast daily serve red promptly at 9:00 am. She serves and gives a description of the meal and any details of how she either came across the recipe or how she developed it. The Italian breakfast she served with fresh homemade sauce was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. My wife and I were blown a way. Don’t miss this opportunity to stay at a second to none B&B with some real life southern hospitality! Thank you Emily for a fantastic experience!

This is a beautiful 1905 home set on a small hill in a wonderful location with easy access to everything Asheville has to offer. You are welcomed with delicious, homemade cookies every afternoon with complimentary beer and ice cream bars to tide you over until dinner. French presses are ready to go at any time for a warming cup of coffee. The woodwork in the home is gorgeous with a stunning staircase to lead you upstairs to your room. We stayed in the Blue Ridge suite with two comfy armchairs for reading and a comfortable king bed with three plump pillows guaranteed to have any guest sleeping well. But the highlight of this home is the yummy breakfasts starting every day with a homemade yogurt parfait with a ever changing topping, My favorite was the sauteed apples which put all the guests in a mood for fall. Every breakfast was a treat cooked for us by our lovely hostess, Emilie, If you want to know anything about Asheville from the River Arts District to what restaurants to enjoy-and to avoid-Emilie is your gal. She even has day excursions all mapped out for her guests including fun places to see and where to enjoy lunch or dinner. We will definitely be back and wholeheartedly recommend the Chestnut Street Inn.

This was our second visit after too great a delay returning. Emilie and staff do not disappoint in any way. From the property adjacent to downtown Asheville , the unmatched breakfasts with French press coffee ready to bloom, snack and beverages in the common area and most importantly you’ll feel the joy the staff still shares after many years hosting. Walk to downtown’s multiple world class dining options and enjoy short day trip drives. Loved it again. 100+ year old home adapted to B&B with updated private baths, WiFi, while retaining the vintage structure , trim and vibe. Great quiet walkable neighborhood. 20 minute walk to central Asheville. Park once and enjoy.

There are no superlatives to write that other reviewers have not used. We immensely enjoyed our 4-day stay at the Chestnut Street Inn. Breakfast each day -- each different and each wonderful -- was excellent and filling enough that we never needed lunch before about 2 or 3 pm. Emilie offered great suggestions for exploring the area and for trying different restaurants, bars, and breweries. Her local knowledge was tremendously insightful and frosted with humor -- always appreciated! And her pre-printed "Choose your own adventure" recommended itineraries were spot-on. We also enjoyed the local beer on tap that she had in the dining room as well as the freshly baked cookies available every morning. (As if we needed any more food! ha!) Lastly, the 120-year old house is gorgeous and surprisingly quiet. Maybe that was because the other guests were also quiet? Or because of the old plaster walls? It's hard to know, but we can only say that we weren't bothered by any noise. We're looking forward to our next visit to Asheville. We will absolutely stay at the Chestnut Street Inn!

Booked this place last minute due to an unforeseen change in plans. I had done little to no research and was just hoping it was ok. This place exceeded our expectations in every possible way. It's probably the most charming Southern home we've ever seen and service and amenities were incredible. The owner Emilie was a saint and just made our stay so fantastic. Her breakfasts were so amazing! Homemade yogurt and brown butter poached nectarines! I mean I'm still dreaming about them. Also, she is full of knowledge about the surrounding area and attractions. She has pre-printed sheets with personal directions and recommendations. It really feels like she has thought of everything. Chat with her in the morning and she will curate the perfect day for you. Water, ice cream bars, cooks, wine and beer on tap are available at any time for all guests. Rooms are adorable, full of character and very clean. There is AC for those coming in the summer. The house and rooms are in incredible shape for being over 100 years old. We booked the Azalea room. It's near the front door entrance which you would think in a house this old would mean lots of noise. Nope. Perfectly quiet at all times. I would assume it's one of the smaller rooms but we found it more than adequate. If you are looking for some extra room to spread out I would pick one of the other rooms. The highlight of the room was the bed. Beautiful 4 poster with the silkiest sheets you can imagine. We slept like babies. Convenience wise it's perfect. They have their own private parking lot. It's a short 10 minute walk to downtown. It's a 5 minute walk to a grocery store. And the neighborhood is super quiet. Wish there was a 6 or 7 star rating we could give. That's how good it is. Whenever we come back to Asheville we will stay here and likely won't even consider other options. In the meantime I'll just have to dream about having breakfast in the rocking chairs on the porch.
