Larry and Nancy are wonderful hosts who cater to their guests. They made our honeymoon special at their beautiful bed and breakfast. The 3 course breakfast was excellent!

Larry and Nancy made you feel like part of their family and very attentive to our needs. Their friendly, warm, and humorous personalities made you feel welcomed into their home. We could not have selected a better place. We so enjoyed our heart shaped bubble tub, relaxing on the porch, or in the garden.

Thank you both for making our honeymoon wonderful! Everything was excellent!!

I decided on the Applewood Manor for 2 of our 4 days in Asheville after much TA research. It was a little out of my price range but I decided to bite the bullet and live well. It turned out to be a grea choice. To sum it up briefly the owners are wonderful hosts and great cooks. The place is squeaky clean and very inviting. The breakfast...well lets just say that it's so good you may not be able to leave the house for a while after. It takes some time to fully recover from an amazing meal. Diet before you go to minimize the guilt. Great wine, cheese and goodies in the afternoon. If you don't know the area very well you really need to stay at a B&B to get the inside scoop on where to go and what to do. I know the B&B business very well and I've stayed in many around the country. This is the type of place that they are (or should be) all shooting to be like. If you like a little social interaction with your lodging, B&B's are the way to go. The better the place, the better the quality of guests, and the better all around experience. Based on what I've read, heard, felt, seen, smelled, and tasted - you can not do better that The Applewood Manor Inn.

My wife and I are fortunate to have chosen this B&B for our six night stay in Asheville. The house is bueatiful, Nancy and Larry are the best, and Nancy's breakfast is the great. Go here, you will love everything about the experience and leave wanting to return.

Upon arriving at the Applewood Manor for a relaxing weekend getaway, we were blown away by the charm of this historic home. Nancy and Larry, the innkeepers, welcomed us immediately and made us feel right at home. We arrived in the afternoon for the wine and cheese spread (a daily Applewood treat). After wine, we had a tour of the home and then settled into our suite for some time to unwind. The rooms are charming with historic details yet modern amenities such as flat screen TVs and iPod docking stations. Over the course of our stay, we got to know Nancy and Larry as well as their two dogs. Oh what a delight! We were also treated to Nancy's kitchen wizardry. The granola and french toast are out of this world! After breakfast on our first day, we were excited to explore Asheville. Nancy and Larry offered great recommendations for shopping, lunch, and site seeing. We hope to return to Applewood this fall!

Asheville, NC is a step back into a more genteel and comfortable time. Applewood Manor Inn superbly compliments the relaxed, scenic setting of Asheville. Entering Applewood Manor, you are warmly greeted by Nancy and Larry Merrill. Having a chance to unwind from your travel with a cool refreshment, Nancy gives each guest a delightful tour of Applewood. The tour concludes at your well appointed room which has a fresh smell of lavender.
After a moment of relaxation, Nancy and Larry await downstairs to assist with any restaurant or tour reservations a guest might need. They are fully stocked with helpful maps to explore the town, and their directions and recommendations are impeccable.
A highlight of our stay was the breakfast and morning conversation with not only our hosts, but each guest. Nancy and Larry made each guest feel like one of the family. A more picturesque, relaxing and delightful weekend may never be found.
Drop by the Applewood Manor Inn Bed and Breakfast and give Nancy and Larry a big Texas "Howdy" from us. Fondly, Paul and Sue

Our first experience at a B & B, and it was wonderful! We were greeted at the door and made to feel comfortable and pampered till the moment we checked out! The rooms were all beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. We sat out on our own private balcony when we wanted alone time and lounged in the inviting rooms and porches when we were feeling more social. Larry and Nancy were always willing to sit down and chat with us and share info on places to go and see in Ashville or share a funny story. Breakfasts were FABULOUS! Nancy prepared three course scrumptious breakfasts with homemade breads and delicious fresh fruit topped with homemade granola...yum! Larry served us, and made sure we were full before starting our day. A lovely wine and cheese assortment was served every evening before we started our nights. The grounds were lovely and spacious. A terrific double hammock and beautiful vine covered arbor made the grounds as inviting as the house!
Applewood Manor was a wonderful experience for us and one we look forward to returning to in the future!
