Applewood Manor Inn Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #11 of 39 Asheville B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence

Applewood Manor Inn B&B is THE place to stay while visiting the Asheville area.
Larry and Nancy are the true definition of gracious and overwhelmingly friendly hosts.
The hospitality at their B&B is absolutely top notch.
Larry and Nancy not only have a tremendous B&B, in and of itself, but also provide a fabulous breakfast each morning and noteworthy suggestions about what to do or what to see while visiting the Asheville area.
My wife and I stayed in the Winesap Suite and it was incredible.
Please place their B&B at the top of your list and you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Winesap Suite and loved it.

We had to make a quick, overnight trip to Asheville for a funeral. Looked for available B&Bs and called Applewood. It was an excellent choice. The house itself, its furnishings, of course the location -- all to our liking. The breakfast was not fancy but quite good. Larry and Nancy were appropriately attentive without being intrusive. We quickly felt like they were old friends.

We stayed at Applewood for a second time and again it was a great experience. The first time we stayed 3 nights in the main part of the Inn itself, but this time we stayed in the Cortland Cottage for 5 nights. As owner Nancy said, "We packed a lot of stuff in there".

The room has a very comfortable King size bed, a wonderful bubble tub for two, a small kitchen area with fridge and sink, and a small bathroom area with shower stall. There were several places to sit, including a small rot iron table with two chairs.

The breakfasts were, as before, very good quality with variety. The quiche is one of the best we've had. The 5-6pm wine & cheese is a nice touch, though we didn't always partake. There were teas, "pop" (as Nancy calls it) and other snacks available, as well. And, of course, their signature "turn down" with chocolates on the pillow is sweet.

It is clear that when we visit Asheville, which may become an annual event, we will most surely stay at Applewood. For anyone new to B&Bs, Applewood Manor Inn is a good place to start.

My husband and I love to stay at B&Bs, and Applewood definitely stands out as a favorite! We went to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and stayed in the cottage. It was private, cozy and so relaxing. We loved the evening wine & cheese social hours. The breakfasts were simply delicious. We so loved Nancy's homemade granola, we made it as soon as we got home. Nancy & Larry are hospitable, entertaining innkeepers. We highly recommend Applewood Manor.

My wife and I traveled to Ashville for a few days away from the kids. Everything about this B&B was terrific. We only wish we could have stayed a few more days.
The location is very convenient (3-4 minute drive) to downtown Ashville. Our room was extremely comfortable, warm, spacious and clean. I slept better in their bed than I have in my own for a long time. Larry and Nancy are both wonderful people; friendly, funny and helpful, but not at all in our way, unless we wanted them to be. Breakfasts were FANTASTIC! There was always ice in our room and soft drinks down stairs in case we wanted them, and a few bottles of cold water in the in-room refrigerator.
We definitely recommend this B&B, and hope we can return as well.

My fiancé and I were referred to this B&B from another B&B that was full. We feel so lucky they had a room open for us! We stayed in the Macintosh - LOVED the automatic fireplace! The pneumatic 2-person bathtub was fun, complete with bubble bath and color changing lights! They even offered DVDs and a DVD player, so we stayed up late watching movies and eating snacks! Just a restful, terrific time, and a delicious three course breakfast with new friends was the perfect start to the day! Thanks to Nancy and Larry for their welcome and kindness!

We were so pleased to make a return visit to this wonderful B&B. It is a most beautiful house, with lovely bedrooms (we stayed in Macintosh again) and reception rooms for the guests to use. There is also a pretty garden for warmer times! It sits in a most attractive neighbourhood, within easy walking distance of the centre of Asheville and very handy for Biltmore. Nancy's breakfasts alone are worth the stay! And she and Larry are the most friendly, caring and knowledgeable hosts. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Asheville, and hope to be back before too long!
