Myself and my wife visited Albermarle on February 16th 2013 for 2 nights. We had been going for three years. Unfortunately there was no hot water in the room, no phone, and no compensation for the inconvenience. This is not the sort of treatment one expects from a hotel of this price.

Dear Jeremy S,
We appologize for the unfortunate and unforseen maintenence issues you experienced during your stay. However, your harsh review does not state all the facts, nor state the complete truth of the matter.Upon your arrival to breakfast on Saturday morning after your first nights' stay, you informed us that there was no hot water in the shower of your room, and that the telephone was not functioning. We appologized for these problems, and immediately offered you a choice of rooms in which to utilize the shower- the room across the hall, with similar tub and shower arrangement or the opportunity to be the very first guests to use a newly renovated bathroom, in either of our first floor rooms. We explained that we would have been more than happy to move you to another room. However, the Inn would be fully occupied that evening and we would not able to do so. We immediately called in a plumber, on a Saturday morning, to fix the issue, which was a faulty hot water handle. It was immediately replaced. We also removed the telephone, and were changing the faulty wire, when you insisted, repeatedly, that you really did not need the phone at this point. So we removed the phone for the rest of your stay at your request.
These unfortunate issues were being resolved, within a short time, even before you left the Inn for the day. We had prepared as compensation for you a gift certificate to return as our guest, for two nights, at any time, in any room of your choice. You left without allowing us the chance to give it to you. We've mailed it to you, and sincerely do hope you will return. Perhaps you may have been expecting monetary compensation for your inconveniences. If we had not been able to immediately resolve the maintenance issues of this 100-plus year old home, we certainly would have given you a complete refund, and found you other lodging for the night. We were sorry to hear your departing comments. However, we feel that we reacted fairly and quickly in the situation. Normally, most guests feel that we offer a good value for our current room rates. We are sorry that you do not agree.

on my way to Florida last month I decided to drive and visit some of the places that I haven't been to in many many years one of them is Asheville. I looked up all the available the B&Bs and settled on the Albemarle Inn, the house is a magnificent turn-of-the-century doctors manchen the rooms are large and very comfortable I was extremely impressed with the hospitality the new owners Fabrizio and Rosemary showed me, Rosemary kooks a wonderful breakfast, and in the afternoon the get-together was both fun and gave me a lot of information about the area. I really can't say enough good things about my stay. I felt at home the minute I entered the door.if you are going through Asheville this is your best bet

We stayed here last year for our honeymoon and it was wonderful! So we decided to come back again this year to celebrate our one year of marriage. This time it was even better! We love the new owners! They definitely show pride of ownership and were extremely accommodating to our needs! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back next year.

PS: The breakfast was amazing!

We had a delightful stay at the Albemarle Inn for our 25th anniversary. The inn was beautiful, our room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfasts and tea were delicious, and Rosemaryand Fabrizio were gracious hosts. The inn was beautifully decorated for Christmas, as well. Everything about our stay was exceptional! We look forward to a return visit, hopefully in the near future.

This B&B is beautiful; there are beautiful carved staircases and the front porch is impressive. The entire place is extremely clean and still true to the 1902 character. The bathrooms however, don't reflect that era and are modern, up to date and the water is hot (huge for us!). Rosemary cooks breakfast every morning and studied at culinary school in Italy- you will not be disappointed!! Both Fabrizio and Rosemary obviously like what they are doing and it shows. Fabrizio is very open and sweet-explaining some of the ins and outs of the house. The housekeepers are also so nice! If you are looking for a clean, quiet, relaxing place where the employees are nice but not intrusive- this is your place!

We had the opportunity to stay at the Albemarle Inn over Veteran's Day weekend and were thoroughly impressed! The home is lovely, clean and well kept. The innkeepers were personable, gracious and interesting. The staff were all very professional and paid attention to even the smallest details. Social hour with the hosts was enjoyable and the food was delicious. I enjoyed getting to know how they acquired their art collection which is on display throughout the inn. Breakfast on the sun-porch could not have been better!
My only complaint would be that our stay wasn't longer!

My husband and I had the privilege and fortune to stay at Albemarle Inn this past Veterans holiday. We were offered the one night complimentary stay in honor and celebration of Veterans day. We were very much pleased with the Inn's Victorian ambiance and charm. The Inn keepers, Rosemary and Fabrizio, a native from Italy, are very generous and friendly. You will have a chance know them while sipping on wine and nibbling on gourmet snacks at the daily evening social. They gave us the Roses and Ribbons bedroom on the first floor and the only accommodation with a private fire place. We truly enjoyed our stay and you will too.
