We decided a long weekend visit to Asheville was the perfect way to spend 4th of July, and we wanted to be near downtown and the restaurants, arts, etc. We also thought a B&B would offer the ideal way to start and end our days there. Everything at Abbington Green was nice--Valerie greeted us upon arrival and took care of everything we needed while there. Her home and gardens are lovely; onsite parking and access to downtown was easy; and our room (the Kensington Garden Suite) was large and very comfortable. The inn has an English decor theme, and it was fitting we were there on the day an Englishman won Wimbledon for the first time in 77 years! Thank you very much, Valerie, and we'll look forward to staying with you again soon.

Room Tip: The Kensington Garden Suite was terrific--a sitting area with huge HD TV, separate bedroom and 2 bat...

I spent a girls weekend in one of the suites and it was fantastic! The rooms were beautiful with comfortable king size beds. The bathroom had a jacizzi with a flat screen ... Very interesting but fun to relax in the tub and watch TV. The porch was super relaxing overlooking a beautifully maintained garden. I 'd highly recommend a stay here.

This was our first time to stay at a bed and breakfast and we are so glad we did. Abbington Green is a beautiful place to enjoy. The gardens are lovely and the food was wonderful. Our hostess, Valerie, was so friendly and very informative of the area. I'm glad we got to meet her and so glad we chose Abbington Green for our weekend getaway.

Room Tip: As far as I can tell, any room would be great.

Our first bed and breakfast experience was a great success. Valerie greeted us like family and provided us with much helpful information about Asheville and the best routes to take. The inn and its surrounding gardens are beautiful. We enjoyed sitting out on both the front and back porches. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, Queen Mary's Garden, but it was nicely decorated and very comfortable. All of the breakfasts were delicious, served in great style, and almost all organic. We would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I spent a weekend in Asheville at Abbington Green and totally enjoyed the experience. The old home that houses the inn is a wonderful building with rich decoration in an English style. The gardens are beautiful and the food was delicious. Valerie greeted us upon arrival and gave us a thorough tour and made us feel right at home. Even though I grew up in Asheville, she provided suggestions that exceeded my expectations. The entire experience was exceptional. I have probably stayed in 50 B&B's over the past 10 years, and I would put this place near the top of my list. Strongly recommended.

Room Tip: The larger suites are quite comfortable.

The answer - book into the Abbington Green B&B. Valerie greeted us like long-lost friends with a Wikipedia-like summary of activities, 'don't-misses and of course, freshly-baked cookies while we chatted in the entry hall. Her enthusiasm for things Asheville, England and organic enveloped her intention to providing a welcoming, deliberate focus on guests to her part of the world. If you're into gardens, hers is not quite as large as the Biltmore's, but just as well-planned and executed. Breakfasts were carefully crafted to suit taste as well as visual. 'love the fact that she is the longest-serving B&B hostess in Asheville - there's a reason!

Room Tip: We chose the Kensington Garden suite which afforded us two baths, a bedroom and sitting room (one of...
