“Retro Look, Great Value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2011

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for three nights during the middle of the week in May. The property is an older “motor lodge” type facility where we were able to park immediately outside our room. The room had been renovated with new beds, flooring, TV, etc. The bathroom was still the same old small one with the sink outside in the room. Everything was clean, smelled clean and everything worked great. The bed was incredibly comfortable! We slept great all three nights and had no problem with traffic noise. The shower had good pressure. Our room had a king sized bed (four pillows) with a safe, coffee maker, microwave and small refrigerator. Toiletry items provided were two bars of soap and shampoo. We did need to turn on every light in the room to get it bright enough. Our room was cleaned every day, fresh towels delivered, coffee, condiments and toiletry items replenished.

We arrived at 3:00 pm and were able to check in quickly. Every employee that we encountered during our stay was helpful and very friendly. We had no problem finding the Best Western. The location was very convenient to the Biltmore Estate and places to eat (as long as you have a car). In the lobby were a computer and printer for guests to use. The connection speed was wonderful and printer worked great also.

The breakfast had the same items every morning. We had three different juices (cranberry, apple, orange), four different cold cereals, instant oatmeal and grits, bananas, apples, eggs, sausage patties, biscuits, gravy, bagels, bread, small muffins, freshly-made waffles, milk, hot chocolate, coffee and tea. At times the room was crowded but there was always some place to sit and eat (there was a total of 46 places to sit).

This hotel was a great value in Asheville and we plan on staying here again the next time we visit the Biltmore Estate.

this was the worst best western i have ever stayed in,there was hardly no breakfast when we went to eat and it was only an hour after it started.my daughter left her favorite small stuffed animal there, they mailed it to us and charged our credit card $37.50 to mail it to us in ga,the box was small and so light you couldnt even tell anything was in it,the hotel said it was fed ex that charged us that but come to find out it was the hotel and not fed ex,you would think since you spend money to stay at there hotel they would send it for free or not try to rip someone off like that. you can bet if we ever go back to ashville we will find a better hotel to stay at and not the best western.

I made this reservation on line (you can get a better deal on line) to visit my sister. You can tell the rooms have had a facelift, and the bed was new and comfortable. The lobby is very nice and has a nice area for breakfast. Don't pass on the waffles, you'll love them! This location was less than a minute from the mall, and 2 minutes to downtown and the Civic Center. I went to Biltmore Village and that was less than a 4 minute drive. This location is central to EVERYTHING and I highly recommend this Best Western. I enjoyed my stay so much I booked another night (on line) and treated myself to a suite. It was beautiful and comfortable and a great value. I've stayed all over and have paid well over $200.00 for the suite I got for less than $100.00 here.

We stayed here during our trip to Asheville April 2011. I reviewed many places and finally decided upon this one, for which I'm really glad. The room (two Queens) was a nice size, and very clean. Very convenient to Biltmore and Biltmore Village. Hotel staff was very pleasant.

Breakfast (full) was included with the rate, and there was a nice selection. The only negative thing I have to say is that breakfast is **very** crowded, so not a lot of room to sit (we went about 8am each morning) and a lot of shuffling about.

At the time of this writing the hotel does accept pets. We were considering bringing our pets, but were able to make other arrangements at the last minute for them.

The next time we travel to Asheville, we will definitely be staying here.

Stayed here on way thru to Charleston. Room was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Check in was speedy as well as check out. Cont. breakfast was good, standard types of food.
Only down side was there could be more lighting in the living area.
Thru this way again will definately stay here.

We will never be staying at this hotel, or any Best Western, again. We stayed a total of 3 days and 2 nights at this hotel. Throughout our entire stay, our hotel room was not cleaned once. The cleaning staff left a bag of towels at our door every day, but never went in to clean our room.

We let it slide the first day, but decided to say something to the front desk the second day it happened. The desk attendant said it was our fault the room didn't get cleaned. When we continued to try and reason with her, she got defensive and threatened us.

We went back to the room and called the 800 number, the complaint line. The lady on the other end of the phone said she would have the manager call us the next day, and we never received a phone call.

Apparently they do not care about cleanliness or customer service. We can find better rooms for better rates somewhere else.
