Great theatre in downtown Asheville. Two screens in this historic theatre. Unfortunately there is no elevator so the upstairs is a bit of a trek but worth it..

The Fine Arts Theatre may use modern digital technology like most other movie venues today, but the building still reflects its early construction as a traditional movie experience. I'd swear the floor tiles and refreshment counter are the originals!
The Fine Arts carries current release movies, but often has those which are harder to find in larger commercial settings. They offer special community-based showings and festivals too.
Tuesdays are $5 tickets for everyone and seniors get special rates at other times.
Being an older building, there is no handicapped access to the upper level screen. However, with the new digital technology, the owners can sometimes switch movies to the lower level with advanced notice of physical mobility issues.
I love the locally-owned 'flavor' of The Fine Arts Theatre and encourage others to check them out.

The iconic movie theater showing independents as well as some others. Just a nice old time theater right on the main walking street.

Unique theater in Asheville. We went on $5 Tuesday and saw Grand Budapest Hotel movie. Big theatre, nice friendly crowd. Seats 30 minutes prior. Not much room to wait when waiting for next show - can be a problem if weather is bad (it was snow showers outside when we went). But it was a great place to go to see a movie. There is a parking garage almost next door for $5 fee. Neat section of town. The bathrooms are downstairs and were okay.
