“Except for the lacrosse team, stay was fabulous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2010

I poured over reviews of the Residences at Biltmore, and am happy to report that it lives up to its excellent notices. It's in a great, convenient location in a really neat old neighborhood, about five seconds from the Biltmore Estate. It's only a short drive to downtown Asheville. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo (#310) that was just lovely. Super clean, fairly well stocked for a hotel kitchen. Very roomy. Really comfortable bed. Tastefully appointed. Nice pool (although running back and forth to our unit for the five year old to use the potty was a bit tiresome--why not bathrooms at the pool?). The staff was wonderful.

We only had one glitch, one that's been commented on before. Oh, could we hear the people upstairs. And they were playing lacrosse. We think. One of the boys carried around his equipment outside and from the sliding, crashing, and pounding almost certainly was using it inside. We reported the noise to the concierge, who promptly called upstairs and reported that the parents had left a condo full of kids for a while. Now, we didn't call until like 10:30pm--I'm okay with a little noise. Nevertheless, the crashing and dashing continued till well after midnight. The next night was more of the same, then water came pouring through our light fixture in one of our bathrooms. We reported this of course, and once again the concierege did his best to be helpful. There's only so much you can do about crappy floorboard insulation and seriously loud late night neighbors. One of our bathrooms was out of commission overnight, till the helpful maintenance guy cleared it the next day.

Fortunately the loud people checked out and the rest of our stay was quiet. Great place to stay, even with the "lacrosse team" although if the developer went to all the trouble landscaping, buying nice furniture and sheets, etc. would a little more insulation between units have been such a terrible idea?

Rooms were nice, modern, spacious and clean. We found the hotel to be conveniently located yet on a quiet street. Washer and dryer in the rooms. Some nice flowers around the property. The pool area was nicer than expected and open from 7 am to 10 pm but you have to walk uphill a bit and climb about 20 steps to get to it. Not a problem for us but probably could be for some. This hotel appears to have been built more like a pre-fab apartment building than an all-suite hotel. The rooms/units are in need of much better soundproofing and I probably wouldn't stay here again because of that. I am checking "recommend to a friend" with that caveat. I heard more than I wanted to from the guests in the unit below although I doubt they were being overly loud. The air conditioning runs a bit loud but at least it helps to drown out noises you don't want to hear from neighboring units.

Really enjoyed the hotel. Loved the color scheme of the rooms and the feel of the property. Really close to the Biltmore Estates. The only downer was the bed was a little uncomfortable could be a little firmer. Rooms have hardwoods and tile which can get a little noisy with "heavy footed" people but all in all great stay.

It had all the comforts of home, and a lot of upgrades. Glad we found it-we will come back! It's sorta like a condo/apt. that you would love to live in. Good stuff!

Our one bedroom condo was really nice. We stayed here for two nights because we visited the Biltmore House. This place is close to everything! Our condo was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the large walk in shower was nice. We stayed on the bottom level. The first night no one stayed in the unit above us, but the second night a family with small children stayed in the unit above us and you could here the kids running loudly. I suggest if you stay here ask for the top level. Overall it was a great place to stay.

Based on previous Trip Advisor reviews, we spent one night at Residences at Biltmore during our move from TN to NC. I was most impressed by the friendliness of the staff when making the reservation and also received a call the day prior to answer any questions, etc. We stayed in one of the pet-friendly rooms (Note: $80 pet cleaning fee), and it was conveniently on the first level, immaculate, and close to a designated dog-walking grassy area. I have stayed in many hotels in many cities, am very picky, and would highly recommend this property!

The apartment was like new and very comfortable. The location was also very nice. Our friends were in the room next door and it was great for socializing in the kitchen, living room, or on the balcony. The hot tub was great after a long hike! The firepit at night was excellent for wrapping up our day.

The only down was the dryer can take up to 2 hours to dry your clothes. The bed in our room wasn't great but there's no place like home when it comes to your bed.
