We came here for a girls' weekend and loved everything about it: clean, well-appointed rooms, comfy bed and furniture, a gas fireplace that kept us toasty, quiet surroundings, beautiful and convenient location. It was as though we had our own private cottage in the woods and we enjoyed sitting in the living room with the gas fireplace burning and even opening the balcony door for some fresh mountain air. In the evenings, the staff lights the fire pit by the swimming pool to sit outside and the ambiance is lovely. I used to be the concierge of a standard hotel and like this concept much better. I like having a stocked full kitchen (especially with cutlery, dishes, coffeemaker, and the full size fridge with ice/water maker - no more runs to the vending machine for $2 water bottles or broken ice machines!) even a washer/dryer should I need it. We really had no pressing needs other than a clean, upscale, quiet, private, convenient, relaxing getaway locale and this fit the bill in every way. We'll come back again and again.

Room Tip: We had a top floor room next to the elevator and heard not a peep of noise from it or from our neigh...

We stayed here for 2 nights in late December, and were overall pleased with the experience. We booked this "hotel" a few months prior, due to the extremely positive reviews we had read. However, we missed the fact apparently that this is not a "hotel" and should be labeled condos.

The property is set up exactly like normal condominiums, with open-air center stairwells (with elevators also). There is no hotel lobby, instead there is a "reservations office" which is nothing more than a converted unit that has a desk and some chairs in it. Very confusing to find if you show up after dark (as we did).

The unit we stayed in had other guest above and below it. The guests below had children and a dog (which randomly barked). The guests above us walked around constantly the 2nd night starting at about 2am, and it was very hard to sleep due to this. Also, the housekeeping cleaned the upper unit between 8am-10am both days which was very noisy to our unit below.

The unit itself was VERY nice. Great kitchen, comfortable bed & furniture, large bathroom w/huge walk-in shower (however only 1 shower head). The room was very clean, and the kitchen came stocked with all the dishes/accessories you would need for an extended stay. It also featured a washer/dryer combo inside the room. It also featured a balcony & an in-room fireplace (electric w/fake flames, but would heat room).

The loading/unloading of luggage was a bit tricky. They do have rolling luggage carts next to the elevators, but due to the curb/sidewalk at the parking lot, it is not possible to roll one all the way to your car. Also, there seems to be an upper/lower parking lot for each building. The building we were in did not have elevator access from the lower parking area, and we had to carry our luggage down approximately 30 stairs before we were at our car. This is something to keep in mind for loading/unloading of luggage, you will want to park in the upper area so you wont have to carry your luggage up/down stairs.

PROS :

Location
Room Size
Room Quality
Cleanliness
Safety

CONS :

Price
"Condo" feel
Noise level from other units
Confusing layout of the property
Parking situation

Overall, we would recommend this property & would stay here again. But we would only consider rooms that were on the top floor, so we wouldn't have to hear the constant movement in the units above us.

Room Tip: Top floors only, otherwise you will hear constant noise from units above you

My husband and I enjoyed our brief stay at this suite-type property just down the road fro the Biltmore Estate. It was nicely appointed with quality furnishings and a well appointed kitchen and living area. We also used the pool in the evening after dinner -- it was very secluded and had a nice firepit. The pool was warm enough, even though the air had a chill. The bathrobes in the room were just what we needed to get to and from the pool warmly. I would recommend this to couples or families that want a kitchen/living area. VERY nice. Only think missing is a continental breakfast to start the day of sightseeing off quickly but it's easy to pick up some pastries in town and have them over coffee in your suite.

After researching on tripadvisor, my husband and I decided to spend Christmas weekend here. What a perfect choice! Not only were we just minutes away from Biltmore and downtown (enjoyed both - especially Biltmore decked out for Christmas!), but we truly had a "home away from home" and were able to make it feel like Christmas with decorations we brought from home and a tiny little tree we purchased in town.

Our one-bedroom suite was everything we anticipated it to be and more - high end finishes, granite countertops, full-sized appliances, stacked stone fireplace, large bathroom, cozy bedroom, balcony w/ table and chairs, etc. We were on the top floor (per recommendations from other reviewers), so there were no noise issues.

We used the fitness room a couple times (two treadmills, elliptical, bike, etc.), checked out the beautiful hot tub/fire pit area, and had a great experience with all of the concierge staff (both on the phone before the trip and during our stay - thanks again, Ed!!).

The only downsides were ones that had been addressed before - the water was slow to get hot (not a big deal), and there were a few "creaks" in the bathroom tile floor - but the many, many positives FAR outweighed those two issues.

Our future visits to Asheville will always include the Residences at Biltmore - we can't imagine staying anywhere else now that we've stayed there!

Room Tip: Ask for the top floor - no noise issues.

Phenomenal location in Asheville, NC to stay. My wife and I originally intended to come to Asheville to do some skiing nearby, but the weather did not work out for skiing then both of us came down with the stomach flu instead leaving us bound to the room. Due to this we were able to really observe and enjoy the amenities of the room as best we could. The rooms are really nice! We were so impressed that we sent photos of the room back to family. The housekeeping staff did an immaculate job when we were able to leave the room for them to work on it. On the day of check out, my wife came down with her case of the stomach flu and we had to figure out a way to stay one more night since she was unable to travel. The concierge service was quick to work with us and though we had to change rooms, the room we transferred to was a bit larger granting my wife the opportunity to sleep while I watched TV in the other room. It worked out very well and my utmost appreciation goes out to the staff!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked this property, and as I drove up I saw that it is essentially an apartment complex, but I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities and service provided. We only stayed one night after a day touring the Biltmore estate, but had a very nice experience. (It is a high-end apartment complex, converted to a hotel / extended stay after the real estate crash hit the Asheville area pretty hard.) The one bedroom apartment was very spacious, with luxury features (granite counters, stainless appliances, very nice bathroom, washer / dryer in unit!), and the complex had a lovely pool deck which we used as well. The office was staffed and welcoming when we arrived just before dinner time, happily providing us with a map and good dinner recommendations. Our only issue was a small leak in our bathroom (from the sink) which was leaking onto the floor, discovered after 9 PM that night - and which I was concerned might leak into a lower floor unit. I called the office, which answered, but did not get someone up to the unit in a timely fashion. Luckily the leak was minor and didn't cause a problem.

The complex was easy to find, located between the Biltmore estate and the downtown Asheville area (but definitely driving distance from both, not walking). I would happily stay again, especially for a longer stay, and would recommend it to others.

Interesting "hotel" which apparently is converted new apartment building turned to suites hotel. Result....terrific! We had the smaller studio room which came with full kitchen, flickering electric faux fireplace and luxury touches. Now tell the truth, when did you ever get a little jar of cotton buds in a hotel bathroom? Touches like that impress. Great location close to the actual Biltmore and easy drive to downtown trendy Asheville. Perhaps the nicest touch left over from apartment days is a huge bathroom with double vanity. Loads of room for all the things you need in a bathroom. Highly recommend.
