“Well done, Fig Bistro”
Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

Our party of 4 dined at Fig last Friday night. We were the last party to be seated, but the host and waitstaff were extremely gracious about the late hour. The bistro has a nice ambience; with pleasant lighting, nice settings, and comfortable furnishings. Our server Erin was professional and friendly, striking the rare perfect balance. We enjoyed excellent salads and soup, then duck, pasta, salmon, and chicken, all of which were perfectly prepared and nicely presented. Lovely Erin encouraged us to try the trio of house made ice creams: banana, berry, and caramel popcorn. They were crazy-good! Thank you, Fig, for an excellent meal. We look forward to returning to Asheville to enjoy another.

“small intimate cafe in Biltmore Village”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

I dined at the bar on a busy evening and enjoyed both the food and the company of the wait staff! They made me feel welcome and had helpful suggestions. I had a good pumpkin soup, risotto, and an incredible chocolate creme dessert that was heavenly!

“Location, Atmosphere, Cuisine”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Fig Bistro is tucked away in Biltmore Village, away from the crowd, but easy to find. It is clean and smart inside, and advertises New American and French cuisine with fresh seasonal dishes. Our party had the egg salad sandwich (w/salmon at dinner), and Bistro Burger w/bacon, cheese and romaine, both with choice of fries or other sides, though one cannot go wrong with the fries. Though we had a late lunch and were the last ones to leave, the staff was very accomodating, and we did not feel hurried. Prices are reasonable, and Fig is on our list when making return visits to Asheville.

“Exceptional food”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

We took a trip to Asheville for our anniversary, and chose Fig for our anniversary night.

I started with the pumpkin soup -- spicy and delicious with basil oil and coconut milk. My husband loved his pork belly appetizer. I ordered a special for dinner -- the braised pork shoulder with parsnip puree. Excellent again. My husband ordered the duck, and he said it was the best he'd ever had. We shared the pot de creme and the bread pudding for dessert. Both great.

Good wine list. They also have very nice tea selections, full leaf in individual pots. We ate outside and it was a nice little spot. Good service without overdoing it. I wish we lived closer!
