Our B&B recommended this place, and we called at 8:00pm the night we wanted to go and were told to come on in! The cocktails, wine, and food were all great, and we left extremely full and happy.

Food was very good, almost too much for us to eat. Wait staff was friendly, attentive. We left fat and happy.

I've only been here once, and it was delicious. It can get crowded, but the wait is usually not bad. I've been back, but usually opt to find a place without a wait. it's too bad for Mela that there is lots of competition in town, but I'll definitely be back there.

The food was very good, reasonably priced. Service absolutely terrible. We had reservations for 6 people at 7:30 on a Sunday night. Place was popular, waiting line entire time we were there. We finally got our food and left at 10pm. Waitstaff never checked on us while waiting for food (which was a very long wait), once food came out never check on us. Came back asked if we needed to go boxes, that was it. Never asked about the food or if we needed anything else. We packaged our food and proceeded to wait some more... I guess since we were a party of 6 and the tip was built in she didnt need more of a tip...

Great decor, great ambiance, highly energetic staff. Reminded me of P.F.Changs.

However, I found the food to be geared more towards non-Indian customers. Not at all authentic. Indian food does not taste like that. Dont get me wrong, it does not mean its not good, because the place was crowded and we had to wait a long time. Not to mention all the great reviews here. Obviously, its individual taste and my experience should not be taken negatively to sway anyone from going there. But we could not finish even half of it - awk. For e.g. we ordered Chicken Tikka Chat. First, chicken tikka pieces need to be small and completely marinated inside out. They offered huge pieces (size of a big Idaho potato) where outside was spiced well, but the inside was completely tasteless white meat. OK, Samosa Chat - It came with one samosa in a bed of chick peas. Seriously? And I dare you to order Punjabi Chhole - surprise, same chick peas!

Nevertheless, you will have a great time just for the experience. Seriously, its high energy, artistically decorated, great work on 'plating', and fabulous staff. Did not use the bar, but it was crowded and people seemed to have a great time.

So, just follow the pied piper and see what you get.

Thank D P
