Asheville Cabins of Willow Winds
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed December 23, 2008

From the start, Willow Winds had an amazing level of service, including an email a week or so before our trip letting us know they were looking forward to seeing us. When we arrived, they had an entire wedding party that had checked out of all the cabins that day, but they had just finished cleaning our cabin and let us check in a bit early. We borrowed two DVDs free of charge (and they have a great selection of new releases and old favorites!) and they gave us a really nice tin of cookies and envelope with local information.

The cabin itself was clean and cozy and they provide firewood and fire starters....we made a fire both nights we were here. As others have mentioned, the best part of Willow Winds is that it is only a 10-minute drive to downtown Asheville, but our cabin, Kathy's Kabin, felt like it was much farther away and was very private. There is easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the leaves were just getting to their peak color, so the setting at Willow Winds was beautiful. Also the fact that we did not have any additional cleaning or hot tub cleaning fees in addition to all the amenities of the cabin made this an outstanding value!

However, one of the nicest touches was a hand-written note from Willow Winds shortly after we returned, thanking us for staying with them. It's details like these that make Willow Winds a truly unique place that has earned them their top ranking in Asheville!

The cabin was beautiful and so were the surroundings. We were closer to the Biltmore Estate, the Biltmore Village and downtown Asheville than I thought when I booked the cabin so this was an added bonus. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. For the price, the location and the added living space in comparison to a hotel room, I would recommend Willow Winds to anyone planning to visit the area. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Willow Winds is a beautiful getwaway that is also close to everything you need! The staff there is extremely helpful, friendly and accomodating. They make you feel like family! The cabins come fully equipped and each has a hammock, hot tub, etc and a view of the woods or mountains. The property is filled with fountains, trails, ponds and waterfalls and is a really great place to relax. I absolutely didn't want to leave! You will really feel like you've gotten away from it all, yet you are just a few miles from The Biltmore and other attractions. Great location, great staff and HIGHLY recommended!

Even better than the pictures! We were so cozy with our fireplace and hot tub surrounded by the breathtaking fall forest in "Jen's Jewel". Everything you might need is supplied except for groceries which we found very closeby at a very nice Harris Teeter market. The Biltmore was so close we went three times!
(The Candlelight Christmas Night time tour of the Biltmore is really wonderful!) The trails around Willow Winds are great too! We really felt we had the best of both worlds feeling so secluded yet 10 mins from downtown Asheville!

My husband & I can't say enough about our stay at Willow Winds. We visited our daughter, son-in-law & two baby granddaughters at Fort Bragg last week. We drove four hours to Asheville & were amazed at the beauty. The fall colors were incredible. Willow Winds is the greatest & we will come again as often as we can as we live in California. Greg's Getaway far exceeded our expectations. I could write a book. The staff was delightful from the reservation process through check-out. Great selection of movies. Discounts to restaurants. We could have eaten at Corner Kitchen every morning for breakfast. The cabin was perfectly decorated, contained everything we could have needed & gorgeous views. Attention to detail was everywhere even down to the tin of tasty cookies. Many thanks to the owners & staff of Willow Winds. We look forward to our return trip in the spring.

We spent two nights in 'Andrew's Attic' cabin at Willow Winds and wished we could stay for longer! The souroundings were so beautiful with trees full of autumnal colours sorrounding our cabin. The service from the staff was exceptional (especially as we recieved a box of cookies upon our arrival!). Nothing was too much trouble for them, even allowing us to use the hot tub at another (empty) cabin one our first night as ours was taking a little while to heat up.
The cabin itself was superburb, a real home away from home. Everything we needed had been thought of and was in the place that we thought it should be so we didn't have to hunt for it - they had even thought of providing washing up liquid, washing detergent for the washing maching, fire wood and fire lighters, which so many other cabin rentals don't provide.
I would recommend anyone to stay at Willow Winds as we had a very relaxing couple of days and look forward to returning in the spring.

Our daughter and son-in-law chose Asheville as the setting for their destination wedding. We were lucky enough to find Willow Winds on the internet to accommodate family and friends. The cabins were wonderful! They were nicely decorated and fully equipped with everything we needed and more! The staff was fabulous - through all the booking process and throughout the visit. Always cheery and beyond helpful! Everyone loved the cabins and several are planning on returning. The only complaint I heard was that they didn't have enough time to stick around the cabins to enjoy all they had to offer! Willow Winds would be a fabulous place to hold a family reunion or other get together. So much to do right at the cabins and such a comfortable place to stay for all ages. It was so nice to have so many of the wedding party staying so close together visiting back and forth. Willow Winds was one of the top reasons the wedding weekend went so well. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts! We will certainly visit again!
