We'll just confirm what other reviews say: this place is really wonderful. We could have gone to Grove Park Inn, but we prefer the intimacy of a smaller hotel like this. it's very close to downtown, so it's easy to get around Asheville. Lots of good restaurants nearby. The pre-fixe breakfast, served in a very relaxing dining room, and afternoon wine and cheese, served in the living room, are both excellent and included in the room price. It's the kind of place we prefer to find wherever we go, if possible.

Three of us, ages 57 to 89 (mother), went to see the Biltmore at Christmas. We found this place on the internet looking for a B & B, but it is not one at all. It is a boutique hotel that includes breakfast. It has a very “antique” feel in appearance, but all of the bathroom fixtures are modern, and the room was spotlessly clean. There is an original (1920’s) elevator, which works perfectly. The staff treated us like family throughout our 4-day stay. The gourmet breakfast was a meat plus an egg dish, served with fresh fruit. Granola was also available. Parking and “happy hour” with wine are included. In truth, we would never consider staying at any other place in the Asheville area.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to your next visit! Thank goodness that the original elevator stays in tip top shape for our older guests such as your mother. We appreciate you taking the time to write such a kind review!

I recently was in Asheville to visit family. I usually stay with them but this time I though I wanted a bit of time to myself in the morning. I was very happy that i selected the Princess Anne. Since it is really a B&B I had breakfast in the lovely dining room. The food is fine with two choices each morning along with juice, coffee, tea and water. In the afternoon there is wine with a cheese and cracker selection in the lovely living room. The hotel is quiet and my room (as are all the rooms) was actually a suite with dining table, mini kitchen including a two burner stove, refrigerator, sink and all you need to do your own thing. Nice bed in the bedroom. I didn't use the wifi connection, but that's available for free. The staff is friendly and helpful and I'd stay again. A couple of small things - I would suggest more variety at breakfast and a lower bed. I'm short and I had to hop into bed or climb up - okay once but in the middle of the night..... Overall - it was a good place to stay.

When we arrived Friday evening, one of us was badly ill. The staff gave us a couple of bananas and apple juice, gratis, to calm her stomach. We changed rooms the next day (as planned); to keep my wife from possibly being kicked out of the room, sick, the staff cleaned our room next room first.
The social hour (90 minutes) with complimentary wine and appetizers was a nice touch (and featured some phenomenal cheese), as were the truffles in each room (replaced daily).
Finally, we left our computer charger in our room, which was promptly mailed home, free of charge. It was refreshing to stay at a hotel where thoughtfulness extended beyond the words spoken by the person behind the front counter, to the action of everyone inside. Highly recommended.

Oh, and for you location-location-location folks, its extremely convenient to downtown, especially by bike (or by inspired walkers).

Very helpful staff. Does have wood floors...if you don't like squeaks or noises from above you might prefer a different hotel. Convenient parking.
