Princess Anne Hotel was a wonderful place to stay! It provided the privacy of a hotel with the nice touches of a bed and breakfast. After spending the day in downtown, we checked in and enjoyed their free wine and hors d'oeuvres. The indoor and outdoor sitting areas are perfectly quiet places to relax. They also have a great dining room where they serve a delicious breakfast to order. The room was very clean and comfortable and even came with some great homemade biscotti. The staff was helpful and polite. I enjoyed the stay and would recommend the Princess Anne Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Asheville.

This was our third visit to the Princess Anne. We always stay in Asheville on the way to our annual trip to Kiawah Island, and now that we've found our way to this hotel, we really never will go anywhere else.

After hours of driving, it's like sinking into a soft bed to arrive here and be pampered with wine and carefully prepared hors d'oeuvres and a spacious, immaculately clean room. Then an evening in the lively downtown, a great night's sleep, and a delicious breakfast. The staff are as helpful and attentive as can be. We always leave with a grand sense of well-being that we are very grateful for.

I had booked a room at one of the Biltmore luxury hotels, but hated to spend the $ on a single room. I found the Princess Anne in tripAdvisor - and am so glad I did! We opted for the "Luxury Stays" annex a block away in an historic building that's adjacent to a bakery, high end butcher shop, and seafood shop/restaurant. Our 1-bedroom apartment (that's really what it was) was beautifully furnished and included everything we could have asked for. I would stay there again in a heartbeat - in the same unit (#201).

My husband and I so enjoyed our stay at the Princess Anne Hotel that we will consider this a destination on our next road trip. From the moment we entered the hotel, we were impressed by not only by charm and decor of the lobby area but the courteousness of the staff. Although we don't drink, we were dazzled by the 4 p.m. hors-d'oeuvres served in the grand room and I want the recipe for that tea! Everything was so stylish and our two-room suite had all modern amenities. A breakfast of yogurt, home-made granola, and freshly cut fruit brought a too-soon end to our stay. (This is one of three selections on the menu). The quality of the hotel reflected in the demeanour of guests as well - smiling faces and congeniality.

Room Tip: Second floor end room was fabulous! The room looks down on the garden. Although the parking lot i...

We so enjoyed our stay at the Princess Anne. The staff did a superb job recommending local flair and the breakfast was delicious. We stayed in a suite and enjoyed the kitchenette and unwinding in the living room area. We would definitely stay here again.

We go to Asheville every year and have stayed in a lot of B&B's. Some great some not so great. Finally found this "hotel" which is actually a perfect B&B. Rooms and baths are roomy with great towels, comfortable beds and linens, a/c/ controls in each room.

The breakfasts are the best, hands down without equal in our experience. You get plenty of food but the pancakes are light and fresh, the waffles crispy and airy. The focus is on excellent preparation and freshness.

Some places just drown you in sugar - pancakes or waffles or french toast swimming in pie filling masquerading as sauces.

Afternoon tea is also good with wines, and freshly made hors d'oeurves
The staff is knowledgeable and superbly trained and helpful in recommending and making dinner reservations.
Location is in an old neighborhood close enough to allow walking into the downtown for dinner or shopping.
