After booking this hotel through Priceline, we read the mixed reviews and were somewhat skeptical of this hotel. Our experience was very positive and enjoyed our stay immensely. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly and our room was very nice with an incredible view! We would definitely stay here again and visit Asheville again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view. We did and had a great view!

On the weekend we stayed at this Crown Plaza it was exceptionally busy and at night time there seemed to be traffic along our corridor throughout the night. The hotel is on one level which can be an advantage but when there are large groups booked in it is a disadvantage. The staff however are exceptional and typical of the Holiday In. Network. Hotel is spacious and clean throughout. Fitness room is pretty good and the hotel is well located for access to the sights of Asheville. I had a problem with a telephone connection and the duty receptionist went out of her way to resolve the problem and compensate me for the inconvenience. The concierge similarly was exceptional and the hotel offers a shuttle into the city for a small fee. Great location, comfortable stay, we would use this hotel again and recommend it to others travelling to the area. Once again the staff made the difference.

We named our own price on Priceline and stayed 2 nights. There was an upgrade fee of $15 to have a king size bed (priceline gets you two fulls) and we asked for a non-pet room in the main building. Breakfast is not included and is $10...we opted for Early Girl Eatery downtown instead, and HIGHLY recommend it. Our room was on the 3rd floor (which is actually the same floor as the lobby) and had a balcony. The room backed up to the land behind the resort where they do ziplining, so it was nice and quiet. Their indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room and larger rec center/gym is down the hill from the resort. You can either drive or walk. Wasn't a problem for us, we enjoyed the facilities. The staff was very accommodating and had a great recommendation sheet for restaurants as well hiking suggestions. It's short drive downtown or you can take advantage of their roundtrip shuttle ($5 per person) if you want to get your drink on! :) The hotel lobby has a nice fireplace and a little pub off the main hallway. It's a cozy atmosphere. While we would have loved to have stayed right downtown, this was an affordable and convenient alternative for us. Thanks guys!

Room Tip: Choose a non-pet room (if you don't travel with pets) with a king bed and a balcony backing up t...

We take great pride in our staff and I am so glad that our customer service and amenities were a WOW factor for you. As you mentioned, we do have a great location and even offer a $5 per person shuttle to downtown. We also offer bar specails in pub everynight. Can't wait to have you back in a few months!

I stayed 2 nights while attending a conference hosted at the hotel. As a conference venue, the Crowne Plaza is more than acceptable and, compared to most conference hotels, a great value. My room was clean, quite comfortable and most important, had free wi-fi. :) The bathroom was on the small side which might be a bit of a problem for 2 or people sharing a room. The food was decent and reasonable. The staff was cheerful and competent except for my server at breakfast who seemed a bit distracted the one morning I was there. It's a 5-10 minute drive to restaurants and bars in downtown Asheville and an easy trip from the airport.

The Crowne Plaza bills itself as a golf and tennis resort. Since I don't play either, it probably wouldn't be my choice for a personal vacation. If I were booking a conference, however, I would highly recommend it.

I gave this hotel 4 out of 5 merely on location and the claustrophobic elevators. However everything else is spot on. At check in, AJ was super nice and helpful offering up info about Asheville and local attractions. Never had any issues on cleanliness, found our room to be quite clean with a nice balcony overlooking the grounds and villas. The property is older but I have stayed here multiple times over the past two years and I can tell the improvements that have been made to "modernize" it.

My husband and I found this hotel using priceline's mystery deal for a 3.5 hotel in downtown Asheville. We were a little nervous but decided to take a chance - great decision. This is a large resort nestled in a very busy part of Asheville close to downtown. We were greeted by Bill who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. He gave us a great tip -to get downtown take the hotel shuttle for $5 and forget about trying to park. You can call for pick up whenever you're ready to return to the hotel. This was very convenient.

Hotel room was large, clean and beds were very comfortable. The hotel is pet friendly so we did hear a few barking dogs but not often. We would definitely return to this hotel. Bar was nice was a friendly staff.

WIFI = worked great in the lobby but had no service in the room. I had to sit in the hallway to download my work and send emails. Unacceptable!

Rooms were ok. At first glance they seemed very nice but looking more closely you could see stains on the carpet, worn out walls in bedroom and bathroom, and old stains on the sheets and blankets. The window had a thin white curtain for privacy, but the thicker curtain only covered about 1/8 of the window on each end and could not be fully closed. Thus allowing light from the outdoor lamps to shine in all night.

While I wasn't there to watch tv, there was not a channel guide and about 1/4 of the channels were static, so it was difficult to scroll through. Plus the hbo was so distorted you couldn't watch it.

Staff was not overly friendly. Seemed to be more concerned with chatting with each other than waiting on guests, especiallly at front desk. More than once, I was left waiting while the clerks chatted with each other.
