Long walks down corridors through swinging doors then up a couple steps. Drag your suitcases to the second floor. Finally did find an elevator in the first building which was three buildings away from mine. Often times when I buy through Hotwire or Priceline, the properties are in need of a facelift. Seems we timed this one right as it had just had its facelift. The room was nicer than I expected to be with plenty of square footage. Each room had its own balcony. It was a bit more motel like than Hotel like and not really resort like at all. The restaurant had good food and very fair prices. If you like to be active, they have ziplines, mountain bike courses and a rope course right next tot the property

Room Tip: Be sure you are on the first floor if you have any mobility issues. If your room number is and odd number, you will be able to walk out of your room and to your vehicle.

Although there are tennis courts, both indoor and outdoor, close by, as well as a zipline and ropes course on the property, this is not my idea of a resort. The rooms are laid out like a motel, with the 100's on the lower level and the 200's on the upper level accessible by stairs and elevator. The menu of available food choices in the bar, restaurant and room service was the same, and was limited and pricey. I was here on business, and spent a fair amount of time in the room.

Room Tip: Breakfast is available for purchase on a breakfast bar. Complementary breakfast was not provided, as is the case in many other chains.

This hotel is a great, friendly resort close to the major Asheville attractions but with a remote location. The property is very clean and the onsite dining is excellent. The hotel lobby and living room remind you of a mountain lodge.

Checked in on Saturday 9/28, was in town for a concert that night. Had found the room via priceline, ended up paying roughly $175 for the evening's stay.

Lobby was very nice, with a good lounge area, and dining room with fireplace.

However, to get to the elevator, you walked down a nondescript hallway, with no signage directing you. Seemed a little odd. There was only one elevator car serving the entire hotel, and it was much smaller than normal. I have a hard time seeing anyone fitting a luggage rack into one of these cars. Also, side note about the elevator - apparently, the lobby is on the 3rd floor. However, it doesn't TELL you this anywhere in the elevator car, so we pressed 1 - obviously didn't take us to the lobby....then we waited for the car again, and pressed 2 - again, didn't take us to the lobby....is it that hard to put a little placard in the elevator car by the "3" button?

Room was ok - they gave us 2 dbl beds instead of a king, even though we were a couple. When I requested a king bed, they told me it would cost additional $. Since we booked through priceline, I can kinda understand this.

Not sure why Asheville hotels have jumped up so much in price, but this hotel could use a little infrastructure update to match this pricepoint.

And the shuttle to downtown costs $5 per person, fyi.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and I am so glad that you decided to visit our property. We have actualy just ordered a replacment lobby sign for inside the elevator since recently a past guest thought it was funny to remove it. Our elevators are smaller but if you put the turning wheels of the cart in front makes it much easier to get cart in and out of elevator. We do have signage in the lobby area showing were all the rooms are located.

Our staff truly tries to create a great experience for all of our guests no matter what has brought them to Asheville, and I am pleased that you felt taken care of. I am glad to here your room was clean and you enjoyed the amenties the hotel has to offer. I am so glad that you were able to use our shuttle service it is a great amenity for $5 roundtrip to downtown. Please give us a call anytime you plan to travel to Asheville!

My family collectively spent many nights at various villa units at the the Crowne Plaza for a wedding. In some ways, this is a nice place, but there are many issues of which you should be aware before you decide to stay.

Pros: Nice people; good housekeeping; beautiful grounds and flowers that are very well maintained; very handy location to points in and around Asheville; tasty and extensive Sunday breakfast buffet; great tennis courts; very nice main building and meeting rooms.

We all were in various "villas" which are hexagonal mostly one (but a few two - see "tip" below) storey buildings located well away from the main resort buildings and rooms. These buildings are pretty well maintained (in terms of paint, etc.) but they definitely are not new and have not aged too well. They left, in my mind, a great deal to be desired in what bills itself as a "classy" resort.

Cons: Toilet ran unless handle jiggled every time; getting the key to work in the outside entrance door was very difficult (all it needs is a little WD-40); toilet tank top did not match toilet; pots/pans/glasses, etc. in the kitchens (for all of the units my family was in) were laughably inadequate - not even close to being able to cook or serve a meal; very old t.v. (not high def) in the main room; main room furniture was relatively new but did not include a pull-out sofa bed as advertised; inadequate lighting in main room; a few bugs on the floor, nothing too alarming, but bugs nonetheless; when I tried to figure out why the otherwise comfortable bed was lumpy under the sheets, I found there was no mattress pad, simply a blanket between the mattress and the bottom sheet.

Finally (and this may only bother me), the view outside my villa was of a lovely sloping grass hillside. Except that it was inhabited by two huge wooden towers and very extensive zip-line wires. Not a huge deal, but it certainly did not enhance the view. I was told the zip-line operation is independent of the resort and that it was very pricey. I'm sure the resort makes money off the rental of this space, but it's too bad they were forced to compromise their grounds to make room for this.

Also, the "5 mile" excercise trail is actually a 0.5 mile exercise trail.

Room Tip: Do NOT accept a ground floor unit in a two storey villa unless you want to hear every single footstep from the unit above BOOMING through your unit. Terrible.
