“A little piece of Heaven in the mountains”

We arrived at the Inn after several harrowing hours on the road in a blinding rainstorm. Patti and Bear were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The place is so comfortable and relaxing. Very clean and the breakfast was yummy! We will definitely return if we are back in Asheville.

This B & B is a real treat! It is in the mountains and a great place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. Patti and Bear are wonderful innkeepers and make you feel at home. We loved Bear's waffles, French toast and muffins. Patti makes wonderful breakfast breads. Loved it and would highly recommend if you are in the Asheville area. Very convenient to downtown and the Biltmore Mansion. Will definitely return if we go back to that area.

Room Tip: Mountain Laurel room has a private patio.

Stayed at this Inn on the recommendations of friends and they were right! Patti and Bear go out of their way to make you feel at home in their beautifully appointed home. The gourmet breakfasts were delightfully delicious and the rooms bright and relaxing. We will certainly return to stay when next in the area!

Room Tip: We loved the Chestnut Suite because of the king sized bed, but the other rooms look inviting as we...

This B&B is spectacular! It's just 10 minutes above the city and you feel like you are in mountain paradise. Patti and Bear (the Innkeepers) are warm, inviting and very helpful with suggestions for Asheville dining and things to do while in town. I highly recommend a visit!

Since our son lives near Asheville, we stay with him and his wife when we need a "mountain fix". But this time, we wanted to go on our own so out came the Romantic Asheville website and we started looking for B&Bs. We have never stayed in one before so we wanted this one to be great. What a great it was! Serene surroundings, comfortable bed, and hosts that were the epitome in hospitality. The breakfasts were yummy with many things to choose and the coffee was some of the best I have ever had. Bear even changed the guitar strings on the "house" guitar when I casually mentioned the old strings. He didn't say anything-just let me find out for myself. We loved this place and you will too!

We were in town to visit the Biltmore estate. In-town hotels were not impressive, nor were their high prices, so my wife looked for other options in the area. She found The Crooked Oak and made reservations. We arrived on Saturday and were met by Bear and Patti as we drove up. (Driving up is an understatement... their explicit directions on how to drive up Town Mountain Road from I-240 were spot on.) Recommendation: arrive during daylight hours. It makes the return trip so much easier.

In the middle of July, the temperature at the B&B was barely 70F. Delightful temps! Room was very clean and well proportioned. There is a TV/DVD area with a good selection of DVDs, a loft with plenty of reading material, a piano and guitar if you are so inclined, and sufficient adult beverages for the asking.

Breakfasts were a treat. We both had waffles one morning and french toast the next. Eggs are available as are pastries and fruit if you want to go Continental.

Our trip to Biltmore was almost a washout with the rain beginning before sunrise and stopping just around sunset, but it was worth it, in part because we were able to discover the Crooked Oak Mountain Inn. We would love to return again.

Room Tip: We had the Willow Suite which is a circular room at the end of the hallway.

The owners are so friendly and live on site so they are always accessible by doorbell or by phone. The Thymes eucalyptus toiletries are a real treat! Breakfast is divine. I don't drink coffee but I do like tea and they provide a huge selection. And remote controlled air conditioner/heat/fan units! Beautiful outdoor area for relaxing and enjoying breakfast.

Room Tip: The website photographs and descriptions are accurate.
