Reviewed June 21, 2005

We had booked two nights for a romantic weekend in June. We picked the Carolyn Gray room which has a large jacuzzi in the room.
The first night ended up being a nightmare. We checked in, place looked nice etc. Our room was on the first floor in the back of the house. All the other rooms are upstairs. Immediately we hopped in the jacuzzi tub but didn't stay long in it b/c it was so hot, musty in the room. I noticed that the bed and bedpost were over the air conditioning vent(which seems pointless). We decided to hop up in the bed and just roasted. We opened the only two windows as much as we could hoping some cool Mt. air would come in...which didn't help. The room windows overlooked a deck on the back porch and there was a small cottage back there. There was a back door to the house that was beside the door to our room. All night til about 2:30 am somone kept coming in and out of the back door to the house. They were talking , laughing, coughing. Not to mention, I open up our room door and notice that the inn has their office set in a nook right beside our room with a privacy screen around it. So we have to hear that going on. I was finally so frustrated at 2am that I opened our door and said "do you mind, we are trying to sleep". Also I was getting claustrophobic b/c the bed is shoved in this tiny space where you have three walls touching directly against the bed. My husband and I felt like we were in a crib.
We got up promptly first thing in the morning and were ready to get out of this place. We sweated all night (and we are both always cold everywhere we go), had to listen to people go in and out a door 100 times and talk, and felt cramped in that tiny space for the bed. We told the innkeeper the next morning and she refunded us for the next night. All we wanted to do was check into a reg. hotel where air circulated. The owner asked us if we'd ever stayed at an inn before (which we have many times) and then said..well this is how it is. Well i'm sorry but that was the worst inn experience i've ever had and a room isn't supposed to be 80 degrees when they have air conditioning. We didn't stay for the breakfast so I can' t rate that if it was good or not. The innkeeper was very understanding and nice and i'm sure the upstairs rooms don't have any of these issues of noise or hot as I saw a/c units in the windows. So it seemed like a great place but stay away from the room on the first floor unless you like it hot and noisy.
