My aunt rented this cabin for myself and other family members to take a trip to Asheville. When I heard that they were "cabins" I was a little apprehensive. I don't camp, and I need electricity and A/C! When I pulled up to the front of the motor court, the sign freaked me out as it says "motor court", to me bringing images of broken-down trailers or worse. I pulled in further, and the cabins were very cute! I drove in the back to the Black Bear Lodge, and it was gorgeous! It is a cabin, with wood walls, etc., but it was very big, and extremely clean. I happily felt the wonderful air conditioning. It was open, with a loft, and I was so surprised that there were 2 full bathrooms, a huge kitchen with a dishwasher, etc. Let me point out that it isn't "new". The bathrooms are a bit dated, as is the kitchen, but it is huge, clean, and the owners think of everything! I brought a coffee maker and my bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee, and both of these things were provided (even the Dunkin Donuts coffee)! There were 3 bedrooms, and a loft bedroom, with a jack and jill bathroom upstairs. They came in and cleaned everyday, and it was much more comfortable (and cheaper, overall), than renting separate hotel rooms for all of us. The only bad point I can think of is the sound of the traffic. The property is in between 2 major highways, and the traffic sound isn't bad downstairs. But upstairs, at night, when everything is quiet ... especially in the back bedroom, the traffic sound is loud. The first night I kept waking up to the sound of trucks and their loud air brakes. I am a heavy sleeper normally, but I was up a good part of the night. It's so ironic, because this cabin is nestled in the woods, and you wouldn't really think that the sounds of traffic would keep one awake. The next day I purchased ear plugs at the pharmacy, and I slept through the night. I believe the back bedroom was the only bedroom without a tv, so I couldn't use tv noise to muffle out the sound. Anyway, I was extremely impressed with the Log Cabin Motor Court, and highly recommend the Black Bear Lodge!
