“Breakfast is overpriced”

Great view, average breakfast. Too expensive for what is offered. For $23/person, there should have been a bigger selection

“Impressive breakfast buffet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

The food was delicious and plentiful. The dining room was so clean and elegant. They have everything from homemade doughnuts and muffins to made to order omelets. We were stuffed and oh so very satisfied! The views were INCREDIBLE!

“New owners, lost of quality”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013

The Grove Park Inn has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation. Gone is the ambience of the hotel and the quality of the service.

For our anniversary, my husband and I return for dinner. We had a spectacular view. The service and the quality of the food ruined the evening. We were through our salads before of dinner drinks arrived. And eating dessert when the server asked if I wanted my wine now. Our water glasses were never refilled the entire time. AND it is a mandatory 18% tip.

Food...3 choices of salad with wilted lettuce. Cheese without anything to put it on..I tried some of the bread but could not tear it apart with my hand. My first piece of prime rib was delicious. Cold but tender. The second slice was tough and overcooked. I stayed away from the seafood.
Selection was a far cry from previous trips. The dinning room had 20 guest maybe..tells you alot.

“Great breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2013

Breakfast was included with our hotel stay. They have a cold room with pastries, granola, doughnuts, cereals, fruits, etc....and a hot room with many choices of meats, biscuits, etc and a chef making omelets. All food was excellent. Favorite was the mini waffles with berry compote. Loved the views of the mountains from our table.

“Changed and not for the better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

We have been coming to the Grove Park Inn and the Blue Ridge Dining Room on special occasions for years. Something has changed and it is not for the better. Food not nearly as good as it once was and the service was terrible. Terrible. Disappointed that a family favorite has been ruined. We have recommending the Blue Ridge to people for years.....sad we can no longer do that.

FYI: Pricing has changed too. Sunday Brunch is now $36 per person plus service charge of 18% and tax. That is $45 total per person.
