Fun and casual place for lunch. Don't think I would be interested in it for dinner...very casual and crowded and not a dinner kind of ambiance. Located in the center area of town near the square, so it is convenient for browsing all the art galleries etc located nearby. Portions are large and there are lots of menu choices that sound very interesting. Be prepared to wait for a table on Saturday afternoon! There is outdoor seating in the alley beside the building which can get hot and uncomfortable in the summer, but at least it provides more seating for the waiting patrons.

I had lunch with a twelve year-old and she cleaned her plate! She had a burrito which sounded familiar to her since she is Mexican, but I wanted to expose her to some slightly different interpretations....we had a great time!

This is NOT typical Tex -Mex food. It's better! It is small and tables are very close together so it is not a quite , intimate place. The food makes up for that though. We could see that our neighbors' plates were huge so we decided to order an appetizer and share an entree.
We ordered chips and 3 types of salsa. They offered about 6 types to choose from. We ordered the avocado, the smoked tomato and the tomato and chipotle peanut. Chips looked and tasted home made and the salsas were very fresh and yummy.
We ordered the Pom Pom bowl with pork. It is served in a large, very unique wooden bowl thing. It was a delicious combination of pork, greens, rice, pineapple, plantains, and fontina cheese and probably other spices and such. So different and delicious.
Please try Salsa's when you are in the Asheville area. You won't regret it!

Fresh food, with flavor to quench any palette. Fried yuca, rice and beans, and pork tostadas - all appetizers - are worth their weight in culinary gold! Wish we were staying longer, it's worth several return visits.

...and it was really good. Service, food, cold beer. Had to wait about 20 minutes but it was a Saturday afternoon and worth the wait. All items as described. The place is a little tight but we waited for an outside table. Will return on my next trip Spring of 2014.

This is a tiny little restaurant with an artsy vibe and delicious carribbean food. I do not like "hot" spicy so our server suggested a milder fruity salsa that was delicious. We can't wait to go back!
