“Good food & great beer selection”
Reviewed September 11, 2012 via mobile

We thoroughly enjoyed the food here & the beer menu was awesome. Try the flight & the meatball sandwich & you'll be very happy. The best part is its one of the most affordable places in Ashville.

“Pizzzzzzzza 'n huge beer tap selection”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

Great place to socialize with your buds or take your family out for a fun time. Hang out eat awesome Barley's pizza and check out the myriad of beer choices (with a beer menu of descriptions) or head upstairs with the younger crowd, full bar, pool, darts and good times! For all ages. One of my absolute Avl faves.

“Love the upstairs bar”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

I've been going here for years. The pizza is great and the beer selection is outstanding. A large wall of taps from around the country. Everyone is always friendly. Go early if you want a table downstairs on a weekend. They fill fast.

“Much better than expected”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

We thought this was going to be a mass market style brew pub, but the food and beer was superb. The waitress really knew her beer and gave good suggestions. The nachos were great; they were huge and made with care; not just thrown together. The pizza was a perfect snack after a day of rafting. Atmosphere was just what a taproom should be.

“Beer selection superb, food is undistinguished”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Our family dined at Barley's on Labor Day for lunch. The menu has variety, lots of sandwiches and pizza options to choose from. Our party had the Beefalo Burger, which is highly recommended. We also tried a mediocre Barbecue chicken sub, a spinach salad, and cheese pizza. (Mellow Mushroom downtown's pizza is vastly superior). These choices were nothing to write home about. Our service, however, was prompt, friendly, and efficient. The best reason to visit Barley's is their beer menu. They have dozens of the local brews (Highlands, Craggie, French Broad) in addition to dozens more national and international beers and ciders. The location is very close (about 2-3 blocks) from the Orange Peel, making it a great place to meet before a show or to wind down after.
