While visiting Asheville - a friend suggested a few places and this was the one we picked. We wanted something light and not too filling since we wanted to walk around and sight see. Service was impeccable and all the associates were very friendly with a pretty busy crowd. Food was delicious. We had the quail - kebabs - mussels (which were huge) - and of course pan rustico (bread). We each had a cocktail which was very exotic and delicious as well - I had a "Jesus built my hotrod" - very unique. The lighting is subdued so we had to use our cell phone lights to read the menu and saw several others doing the same. This would probably be my go to if I lived in Asheville. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Some friends and I were visiting Asheville from Charlotte, No. Carolina after a long day at the Biltmore.
We were looking for a light dinner and stumbled on this gem specializing in Tapas.
A very spacious, pretty place with great service.
We each order 2 items which were delicious. I enjoyed scallops with cauliflower in a light sauce and shrimp fritters.
Imaginative items with an exotic flair.
Look forward to returning and sampling more dishes!

We've gone to Zambra for birthdays, anniversaries, and just to take out-of-town friends. Everyone we've taken loves it as much as we do. It's a tapas restaurant, but each dish is large enough to share with at least 2 people. And there are vegetarian selections! The atmosphere is romantic (go to one of the back rooms) and the service has never disappointed us. There is music on the weekends. It has a full bar and a great Spanish wine selection. Try it--it's a great place!

Downtown Asheville is the mountain spawn of hip and cool (hool) and the restaurant scene is one of its delightful manifestations. Walk almost anywhere in town and you can "discover" a delectable establishment. We were delighted to discover this hideaway 100 meters from our hotel. So delighted we "discovered" it again the next night. Food/drink, ambiance and service were excellent. We now understand why this restaurant has been serving memorable experiences for over 15 years and hope to have another when we return.
