We dined on a Friday night and the restaurant and bar were packed. Reservations are recommended. Despite the full house, we did not feel claustrophobic given the high ceilings and large dining areas. The dress was casual; patrons wore anything from T-shirts to cocktails dresses.

The decor is slightly retro and could use a tad of updating, but overall very comfortable--the ambience adds to the authentic Italian feel.

We ordered calamari and a mozzarella tomato appetizer. Both were great. I had the linguini with clams which was light and fresh. My husband had one of the gnocchi plates. His meal was excellent. The tiramisu was exactly as it should be.

The wine and beer selection was great as was the service at the bar and restaurant.

We have eaten at most of the Asheville "hot spots" and this ranks right up there with the best. If you shun all but the trendy Asheville "foodie" restaurants this place may not be for you. However, if you're looking for something classic, you will not be disappointed.

While researching restaurants for our Asheville trip, we chose this one because it offered live music. There is a piano bar downstairs, and a more private romantic dining area upstairs. We got more than we bargained for - great service, wonderful food & wine, and an atmosphere filled with character and charm. Candles & dim lighting make it an ideal romantic choice. We had calamari, and it was delicious. Our entrees were also very good. The wine was delicious and our server was great. It doesn't look like much from the street but it's wonderful! I'd go back for more!

My wife and I have been to Asheville 3 times in the last ten years. We specifically like the piano bar downstairs and have never eaten in the dining area. The bar tender takes care of the bar area and he has been there forever. Tall gentleman with square glasses. Great drinks, fantastic entertainment and service (once a piano soloist, another time a guitar soloist, then a guitar and Jazz singer combo). Wonderful food! The best White Clam sauce I've ever had and my wife loves their Fettuccine Alfreado! We don't pass this place up when we hit town.

Don't believe the hype this place is sub-par. We went for our anniversary and the $11 calamari appetizer was barely a taster sized portion. My wife ordered eggplant parm and the eggplant was raw not slightly undercooked but crunchy you couldn't cut it with a fork. I had the veal ravioli and there was no discernible difference between it and a can of chef boyardee besides the cheese on top. This place should be avoided like the plague. The olive garden is more authentic than this place.

After a day in Asheville and visits to some of the excellent breweries, we came to Ristorante Vincenzo with a dining certificate. When travelling, we typically buy restaurant certificates and try to find those hidden jewels in locations we visit. Not knowing what to really expect, we were pleasanty delighted with our meal and experience. We had the Linguine con Vongole (clams) and the Chicken Arrabiata. Both of us could not get enough of it off our plates. The yummy, warm bread we had been given was used to soak up every last bit of sauce. I could of eaten another plate of this. The dining room has a feel of a Manhattan lounge. There was a woman piano player who added great musical atmosphere. It was a perfect place for a romantic dinner, wonderul cocktail or family get together. Our waiter was quite helpful. We would gladly go back to this restaurant. The sauces were too yummy not too!
