Description: Our Southern dishes and libations are served with a creative twist and a smile, and we serve our guests nothing that we wouldn't want on our own supper table. When we play with our food (and we think it's okay), the result is scrumptious. We're rooted in the Mountain South, and our menu is inspired by time-honored traditions: pickling and frying, canning and preserving, and utilizing seasonal produce and ingredients to prepare delicious, scratch-made creations.

“Tomato soup was amazing!”

This is a must try in Asheville!! Amazing tomato soup and homemade biscuits and honey!! I recommend coming for lunch because you could barely get in the door for dinner and the wait was outrageous. Food was definately worth the wait!

“Great food and truly great service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2013 via mobile

Cheesy goat cheese grits. Fantastic! Had two orders at lunch, ordered two more to go. Along with ordering tons of other yummy food. Fried chicken with biscuits and gravy -fabulous!
Jam served with comp biscuits out of this world. Every bite of everything we ordered was truly outstanding.
And the service was amazing, in spite of our dining at the height of the lunch rush. Knowledgeable, accommodating, delightful and pretty obviously happy with their work and their products!
Open kitchen behind bar seating is revelatory - no way to cover up anything involved with food preparation or delivery. Spotlessly clean and HEAVY emphasis on local, seasonal, organic and humane ingredients, prepared flawlessly.
A dining treat we'll always remember!

“If you visit Asheville, you have to eat here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

When I went in Nov 2013 the biscuits are now made smaller than they used to be, but they still taste amazing. Their honey and jam is awesome and I could have probably just eaten the biscuits and been happy. The food was great too, oh and if you get something to drink try the Mint tea. It was wonderful. Love this place!!

“Great biscuits and pancakes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2013

The food at Tupelo Honey Café (THC) is excellent. They start you off with a huge buttermilk biscuit that allows you to understand why they are so treasured in the south. They give you honey or homemade jam to put on it. It is warm from the oven.

Their menu is very interesting and eclectic. As a foodie I loved it. They are famous for their pumpkin pancake with pecans. I ordered one. It is huge, takes up the whole plate and comes with a great syrup. Many people ordered one as a starter it seems. They have real southern strong tea and a great selection of local beers. I got a sampler of four beers which were very good and different. They are packed and there can be a line. If you visit Asheville be sure to try this place.

“great food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2013

We had to visit Asheville on a Sunday night at dinner time and decided to eat at Tupelo Honey since it was nearby. We were amazed to see that even at eight o'clock on a Sunday night that people were still coming in to dine and the restaurant was almost full of diners. We had dined at the other location outside of Asheville for breakfast, but never in town. Our food was wonderful, the service was spot on excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, cozy, and not pretentious. I enjoyed their fine hamburger while my wife had the crabmeat and egg breakfast...which is served all day. Both were great and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. This place has always looked packed, so be willing to wait. It will be worth doing so.
