Description: Our Southern dishes and libations are served with a creative twist and a smile, and we serve our guests nothing that we wouldn't want on our own supper table. When we play with our food (and we think it's okay), the result is scrumptious. We're rooted in the Mountain South, and our menu is inspired by time-honored traditions: pickling and frying, canning and preserving, and utilizing seasonal produce and ingredients to prepare delicious, scratch-made creations.

“Great burgers.”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

We ate here late evening after a concert and enjoyed delicious hamburgers and local beer. It's a great, relaxing place to eat with friends. Perfect downtown location.

“Restored our faith”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

After a negative experience at Louella's BBQ in the same city (see my review), Tupelo Honey restored our faith in the local restaurant scene. We had been warned that, as the place is so popular and does not accept reservations, we might have to wait hours and indeed the restaurant was full when we arrived. However, we were told that the wait would be only 25 minutes and were handed a pager for them to call us when a table became vacant.

Twenty-five minutes later, we were seated on the terrace attended by a very pleasant server. I still can't quite get my head around the southern habit of serving biscuits (soft, sweet bread rolls) - in this case with jam and honey - as an appetizer. The ones at TH were so good it was tempting to eat the lot and not leave space for the excellent main course. Although some reviewers have been less than impressed with this restaurant, we were both delighted with the food and the service and would certainly have returned if our schedule had allowed.

“Southern Living got it right!”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

We live in Asheville. We have eaten at both locations. The downtown locale has that special ambience, but the south locale has more space. The food is excellent. Simple as it is from thee star with the biscuits honey and jam through to the meal is wonderful. Ou can or go wrong. Try the moonshine infused drinks...awesome. The fried green tomatoes and everything else. Great, great great!

“YUMMY BREAKFAST”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Went there for breakfast. Biscuits with honey and blueberry jam served before breakfast were delicious. Had the Eggs Benedict with goat cheese grits. OMG.

Just gonna agree with everyone...the Sweet Potato pancakes are great...the other items all worth it.
Claude our server really knows his waterfalls and hikes, and is a super cool guy.
