Thsi restaurant was recommended so many times from people we were bumping into that we just had to try it for ourselves. We were not disappointed. Excellent service and fantastic dishes abound on their menu. We tried so many of them and liked them all. I started with the sweet pea gnocchi and then moved on to the shrimp and calamari and enjoyed the preparation very much of both as well as their taste. I finished with our server Elizabeth's suggestion to get the scallops. Excellent. My friends enjoyed their Paella as well. My suggestion is to listen to the locals and go to Rezaz you won't be disappointed.

Waiter was indifferent to suggesting items. He got the order wrong. Brought us an item we canceled and the wrong portion size. Next day we were ill.

“Great atmosphere, but at least post online the menu you're serving day-to-day.”

We just weren't crazy about the Central Spain menu presented for Sunday Suppers and were disappointed to miss out on the Moroccan and Lebanese menu items as advertised. Customers should know that they are unable to order from the regular menu on Sunday Suppers. Ordering on these days can be very difficult if you have dietary restrictions. If none, you'll enjoy the experience.

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

This is a review of a dinner we had a little over 2 months ago on Monday, May 6th. We had invited 2 friends from out of town to join us. We have been coming to Rezaz since we moved here in 2005 and we thought the food was delightful. Since then things have changed in our opinion a little each time and not for the best. In subsequent visits we made it a point of suggesting to serve better bread instead of the thin sliced dried out bread which probably had to pass for baquette. We did this usually by writing it down on a questionnaire available for each table. We think it was either not read, not paid attention to and/or filed away in their filing system ( read paper recycle bin).
Our last visit started out with the same old bread. The waiter was pleasant, took our order. We started out with one order of the Messe Rezaz for appetizer, Humus, muhamara, babaganouj, feta, calamata, seved with warm pita. We certainly have eaten better humus commercial available in supermarkets, the muhammara dip was OK but what was specifically disappointing was the babaganouj. I asked the waiter how it was made and he mentioned it was all made of local available produce. I told him that I did not taste the roasted eggplant. He mentioned that it was made from a local vegetable, probably zucchini. I think in that case it would have been better to describe the appetizer as assorted vegetable dips with a middle eastern twist and nobody would have been critical. Btw the pita bread was very good.
As far as the main course is concerned I only remember what my friend and I ordered. He ordered the braised lamb shank and I ordered the sautéed trout. The lamb shank obviously came from a very small lamb! In 2005 I ordered lamb shank and everybody at the table said “wow” because of the size. Not this time. The gnocchi came in the shape of a 2x2 square instead of the delicate small dumplings. Not very elegant looking. This was more like a slab of polenta.
The trout I had was OK. The bed of onions and fennel was overcooked and very salty. We apologized to our friends for taken them to Rezaz. It will be a long time before going back there again.

“Excellent experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

Found Rezaz during a visit to Ashville last summer. Was just in Asheville for a meeting and had to visit Rezaz again. Very unusual and interesting cocktails (a lavender martini) and good wine selection. The veal meatballs were crazy good. The server was very friendly and attentive. Well worth checking out.
