The Wicked Weed, 91 Biltmore Ave, is a great place if your looking for an opportunity to try a lot of craft beers. There is a restaurant with a bar upstairs which can become very crowded and really noisy. Also - they do not accept reservations. Downstairs, which is less hectic feeling, is their tasting room which has a neat copper-topped bar and some high-top tables to sit at. We chose to sit downstairs and the bartenders there were very friendly and eager to give us small tastes of basically everything on tap. And there is a lot to choose from. I had the Brother Wolf and Wicked Weed Feral Ale which was awesome and the Cardinal Sin Red; also delicious. They also had free pretzels and mustard available - score!

As for the food, the meat is all hormone-free and much of the food locally sourced, but this is almost a law in Asheville. You can eat at the bar so we ordered the burger which was smallish but still tasty and the fish and chips which again was a small portion but good tasting and not too greasy. They make an effort at coming up with interesting apps and most of what we saw coming out of the kitchen looked great.

Since this place has become so popular you have to either be willing to put up with quite a bit of noise and a real crowd on most nights, or choose to sit downstairs in the tasting room, OR go in the afternoon on a nice day and sit outside on the large front patio. However you choose to go you definitely should give it a try if you're into craft beer. You won't be disappointed.

They change their menu, so my usual Panini was not available. The food is always top knotch...and their beer selection is tops!

Stumbled upon this place and so happy I did. I was in Asheville in mid April for the day and loved the atmosphere of this place with the outdoor sitting and open air feel with the large windows opened. Especially on a beautiful sunny spring day. The craft beer did not disappoint either. In fact, it was delicious! I would have to say they were 3 for 3 as the food also was outstanding. I got the grilled chicken sandwich which was really fantastic. Run, don't walk!
