“Excellent hang out spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2013

This was the first place that we hit when we got to town. It was an extremely cold walk but this place was worth it. We sat in the bar at the community table where we tried 5 different beers and 3 different dishes. The beer was not as strong tasting as I expected, but it was good. We tried the boiled peanuts snack (could have used a little more salt or more sumac), house chips & french onion snack (YUM!), and the fish and chips appetizer (good). Our bill was about $40. Extremely affordable and I would definitely recommend stopping here for a relaxing hang out.

“Outstanding beer, atmosphere, and staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2013

The only disappointment here was "no flight Friday." Asheville is definitely beer city, and this is definitely the top gastropub in town, and now one of my top two breweries here (so I guess that makes it #1 for me). While we didn't eat upstairs, we did have the "cheese" appetizer downstairs and it was really good, with a great presentation, with cheese, dried fruit, nuts, and syrups. We spent almost four hours hanging out downstairs, playing cards and talking, the atmosphere is very comfortable. The staff is extremely knowledgable and I heard them explaining the beers (well over 20) to many people. I had beers from the Belgian, hoppy, and funkatorium menus and they were all top notch in their style. LOVE the barrel-aged and funky style beers. Next time maybe I'll try the upstairs restaurant too!

“Nice addtion to Asheville.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2013

Asheville has a great and eclectic beer scene. This brewery is a bit more urban in feel than most of our breweries. Many of the beers are good. The food is good as well. The menu changes so you can't always get your favorite entrée, but there is always another good one! Don't expect a private dinner for two because the seating is close and community style both inside and out.
Overall, a good place to go, especially if you enjoy craft beer.

“Good Atmosphere and Good Beer Selection”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2013

We were surprised at how good the food is here. We did not expect it to be as good as it was. It looked a little fru fru (my husband's words), but we left full and enjoyed the meal. Our server was great. We were told to get there early because they reach capacity at 5:30. The downstairs tasting room is a little crazy, but we enjoyed the experience. We would visit this restaurant again.

“Top notch staff and a fun menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2013

Was in Asheville for 2 nights and went to Wicked Weed for a late lunch and beers. The variety of styles including an IPA with Brettamyces, barrel aged strong ale, and saisons made this place the highlight of my trip.
