Owner description: Asheville Museum of Science (AMOS) is the premier exploratory science experience in downtown Asheville. With fully interactive exhibits, street level access, and a variety of educational programs, AMOS is a must visit for the whole family! AMOS is currently in our Soft Opening phase, as we continue to complete the rest of our exhibits. All admission prices are half off as we look towards our Grand Opening in the summer of 2017.

North Carolina has many stones in our soil, but this museum offered much more than simply that. It was fascinating to wander through and see the beauty of these rocks and stones, as well as learn more of their history. A fascinating place to visit.

The "museum" was small and you could pretty much see the whole museum from the front door. It would be an ok stop if there wasn't an admission fee.

Hey we might be small but we are mighty! CESM is Western NC's premier earth science resource specializing in earth science exhibits, public outreach, community events and unforgettable STEM education!

The museum is only part of what we do. We work educating all members of the WNC community on all things planetary science!

You also probably didn't see our 3-D digital projection system.... from now until May every first Saturday it will be going. Check our website for more info.

Keep in mind this is a small, local museum. It does not have the huge funding of larger museums. They do a great job of teaching about gems and geology. Great for field trips.. Make sure to enjoy the blasting exhibit!

While I don't get caught up in the gem craze my kids loved it. Every educational.
