The church is about a block from the Grove Mall area. When you look at the church you see an wonderfully maintained building across the street from the Civic Center. When you walk through the archway between the church and the residence you are awestruck by the view of the mountains. That alone made the visit worth it!!

We weren't able to make it by during the day, but we walked past during a ghost tour we were on. It is beautiful. The guide told us the history of the architecture of this magnificent building. I hate we didn't have time to go inside the following day before leaving. It's definitely on our "must do" list for next trip!

It smelled nice, it was pretty, and it was free. Free parking too. Those are all things that I like.

A minor basilica in the Catholic Church right in town, that offers tours. Beautiful building, but the best part was during the Mass. I didn't catch the priest's name, but his homily was on the changes instituted by Pope Francis. You may go for the architecture, or the pipe organ, but the message will hold you.

I printed a little history on the Basilica before we went. (It's on the Basilica's website: http://www.saintlawrencebasilica.org/documents/ArtandArchitectureoftheBasilica.pdf). We arrived early for Mass on Sunday so we would have the opportunity to read the history and look at the actual items that they were talking about. What a great experience. I love going to Mass at the different churches during our travels. This one was a beauty. How magnificent were beautiful stained glass windows in the Chapel of Our Lady, and all around the sanctuary? There are so many pieces of artwork, that it seemed impossible to see all of it in one visit.
