Description: Chestnut is an American restaurant. We are in a 1920s era building in downtown Asheville, right across for the Aloft hotel and the double decker coffee bus. Parking is plentiful (and cheap) at the public deck under the Aloft Hotel.

Seated and greeted promptly, start with a donut yum but its very sweet.. if you prefer it less sweet ask for no syrup or syrup on the side. Perfectly cooked Eggs B, the side of potatoes was a nice combo of white and sweet potato. Great fresh orange juice, good friendly service, nice selection and reasonably priced considering the food and ambience. Would definitely recommend.

I hosted a group lunch at Chestnut on a Saturday morning. The service was outstanding, the food was amazing - try the lobster pie, catfish & grits, and lobster bisque! Everyone in our group also enjoyed their desserts - salted caramel tart and lemon curd cheesecake with blueberries. This new little spot is a wonderful stop as you explore downtown Asheville. As a tourist, we haven't made it to their sister restaurant - Corner Kitchen - but, I hear it's just as impressive with the same owner/chef. You won't be disappointed with this little gem.

Our first trip to Chestnut in Asheville, NC. The outside of the building is very nondiscript, but the inside is very cozy and the food and service were very good. I enjoyed the egg plant sandwich and the tomato jam on the sandwich was so very good. We split a bread pudding for dessert, but were disappointed in it. But over all we enjoyed the meal and experience.

Saved the best for last! Final night in Asheville, we chose Chestnut based on reviews on Trip Advisor. We had wonderful service, encouragement to mix & match a variety of medium plates, which we did. All of our dishes were well presented and delicious. It is worth saving room for dessert -- we had the lemon curd cheesecake. Wish I had purchased the whole cheesecake to take home! Everything, including the wine, was fairly priced. So, all told, a great experience!

New and wonderful! Starting with an infamous gin and tonic. They make their own tonic which includes spices!!! A Mixologist from Colorado trained them! The menu is varied and delicious! Will definitely return'
