“Beer and Peanuts....”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

Who would have thought you could build a business on beer and peanuts, but that is "The Wedge". Oh yeah they do have a food truck in the parking lot on some evenings and they show movies in the summer time on the side of a van truck....
First the beer was off the charts...I had the Russian Imperial Stout.....chocolate, raspberries and coffee finish.....at 9.5% two is all you want to have unless you are going to crawl home! The peanuts were good but we did not try the food truck which was some sort of latin menu....

You got to give the beer a try....and must see in the beer capital!

DO NOT expect to sit inside....so if you go in the winter....take a coat!

“Look, there is no better craft, none”
Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

This is second-to-none draft beer. The Third Rail double IPA was the perfect balance of hop and smooth. Not grassy or bitter. Truly a brew from a master. 11 ABV, so bring a designated driver! This is as good a beer as I have had. Bell's or Founder's would be envious. The Alt and the Porter were just as good. Beer is food, and this beer is James Beard good. Outside the brewery was a food truck, El Kimchi. EXCELLENTE! Soul food for the heart and mind! If these guys ever go bricks and mortar, make them a regular spot! The spicy chicken bibimbop and dumplings were out of this world good, but then I am sure that was also the beer talking. I would be remiss if I failed to mention the metal art stools, fencing and tables at the Wedge. What a great addition for such an artsy area of town. Drink beer from Nirvana, eat from a gourmet food truck, and buy art! What a great day!!!

“Best in Asheville”
Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

Best brews in town. Consistent, true styles for every beer snob. Great location in the River ArtsDistrict of Asheville makes it easy to enjoy fine art and culture and finish it all off with an Iron Rail IPA or a Gollum Belgian Ale.
