We ate at the restaurant Christmas eve and were hoping for a nice treat. I have to say this was probably the worse meal I have had at the Grove Park Inn. This was my first to have with Omni as the owner but was anticipating a meal that was worth the price they were asking. We started with the baked brie - it was horrible - it appeared to either been baked in advance and frozen and then partially heated up to serve or was not ripe at all. It was sour and salty inside and no melted brie - we did not send it back as we should have. We figured it was due to the evening being busy for the holidays but were fearful it was the standard of the food at the Vue. And we were right - my husband ordered pepper encrusted ny strip. It was so peppery he had to scrap off all the pepper to eat it. He has had this dish before where he could eat it as served. Also on both of our plates were vegetables pureed to the consistency of baby food - his strip was on pureed sweet potatoes and served with a side of pureed cauliflower. My dish was the scallops on lentils with pureed something. No textured to the food and definitely amateurish cooking and creativity. There are so many better restaurants in Asheville at better prices....I would not bother with here.

Had dinner here the last night of our trip. The views are great from all the glass around the restaurant. The staff was very nice and knew the menu quiet well. The food was slightly above average. The dinner took forever. Had a 7pm reservation and did not leave until after 10pm. The service was just slow. A lot of time between courses that should have not been there. We had a party of 6, so the size of our group was not the problem. The prices, I thought, we a bit to much for what you get. It was by far the most expensive meal we had during our stay, and sorry to say, not the best.

Located in the Grove park Inn, this restaurant is a fine dining location. Very good food, service and a large wine and spirits list. ...And with the great service and food, expect to pay for fine dining. Not a negative, but one pays for what one gets.

We were visiting Asheville for the day and, on the recommendation of friends, booked lunch t the Horizons Dining Room at the Grove Park Inn. Many have commented on the setting--high up on the side of a mountain in rough-hewn "castle" dating from 1913. The staff were uniformly polite and helpful. Our meal was served in a timely and professional manner. None of the entrees stands out in my memory now, but all were very tasty and well-prepared. Our server was very attentive. No room for the great-sounding desserts, but I settled on a cup of their hot chocolate. I believe it was the best cup of hot chocolate I have ever had--there is a touch of carmel laced in.

Driving up to Grove Park for the first time requires a bit of attention, as the arterial heads off to the left and the route to the inn involves heading on straight into a 'no outlet' thoroughfare, off of which Macon Avenue diverges to the right. Parking was tight--there were several conferences there, so we ended up using the valet--$15.00.

When my husband and I stay at the Grove Park Inn we plan on dining here at least once during our stay.

The service is perfect.
The food is perfect.
The setting and atmosphere is perfect.

The menu will change with the seasons. The Chef features fresh, local and organic selections. The menu is divided into vegetarian, seafood and meat selections.

One of the selections was Melted Vidalia Onion Soup. I have never had anything like this, it was so good.

If you want to have a nice relaxing meal in a romantic setting make a point to visit Horizon's. We love that they focus on quality. You can tell that the people really care about what they do.

There is a very nice selection of wine by the bottle. They also have a good selection of wines by the glass as well.

We will go back every time we stay at the Grove Park Inn.
