“The best of local crafts”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

The Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway offers the most choice items from local WNC artists. Everything in the shop is "judged" and there is a nice, small museum on the 2nd floor.

After a short drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway we discovered the Folk Art Center. There we found representative work from the best craftspeople of the area. Very enjoyable stop.

We visit the Folk Art Center every time we are in Asheville. There are always interesting arts such as sculpture, jewelry, furniture and clothes. A great venue for crafts.

“Mountain art, nothing like it”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

Surprisiingly close to center city Asheville, this is a wonderful place to visit, if you like and appreciate "real art". The displays are easy to follow and very interesting. The shop is huge and is well stocked with art for sale and a knowledgeable staff. Great shopping experience.
