Owner description: McCormick Field opened its gates for the first time in 1924 when the Asheville Tourists played host to the Detroit Tigers. Over the years the stadium has encountered numerous renovations, most recently a seating bowl makeover in 2015, that has ensured the stadium remains up with the times while keeping its lustrous history and throwback feel. With a capacity of just over 4,000, the dynamic during a game is intimate and scenic. It is a hitter friendly Minor League ballpark thanks to a short porch in right field and a 42-foot high wall in right-center. McCormick Field is still inhabited by the Asheville Tourists, the Single A Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.

Do you need a comment if you have been there? Fun seating, not a bad seat in the stadium. Short walk from parking lot,

Great family and adult venue. If you like baseball, minor league is the place to go. Almost all future MLB players pass thru minor league. Chris Smith and Co. do a great job. Hated the way Rockies treated Joe Milulik

“a well staffed minor league club”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

The Colorado Rookies is the parent club of the Tourist. Over the years they have maintained a good supple of talent. They recently (2012)signed a 4 year working agreement with the Ohio ownership, The Rookie did make a faux pas recently with their firing of long time Tourist manage and Sally League HOF, Joe Mikulik, after being named manage of the year and having the best winning percentage in professional baseball. I guess Joe said the magic word and the duck came down on him.
