“Romantic Paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2012

I booked a suite at this beautiful property as a romantic vacation for my wife. I looked at the rooms and options on their website (which is a bit complicated to use) and selected a package. Later, with the great help from Rachel of their booking office, I modified and improved the package. From the moment we arrived at the front door, we were treated to warm, caring, and personal service. Although the property is magnificent, and the food is wonderful, it is the warm and caring service from everyone, the bell staff, the front desk, the servers, the management, even the drivers of the hotel shuttles, that has made this experience memorable. It is obvious that everyone employed in this hotel is focused on providing customer care. The Biltmore Estate is the star attraction, but our trip to this hotel was primarily focused on a romantic vacation and the staff of the Inn on Biltmore Estate delivered far beyond expectations!!

It was worth the extra money to stay at the Inn on Biltmore instead of other Asheville hotels. Guests are pampered here & have access to the estate grounds before & after hours. There is enough activities on the Biltmore grounds to occupy your time for an entire weekend. The entire property is beautiful. Make sure to do breakfast or dinner at the resturaunt here, the views are the best from there! The breakfast buffet was great, but be aware that there is a dress code for dinner at the resturaunt. The spa was great too, although overpriced. Overall a wonderful stay!

Just spend two days at the Biltmore. The Estate is fun to tour. I have recently been through the palaces in Vienna and so the Biltmore House is pretty tame in comparison. To give the Vanderbuilt's credit...they did get their "palace" built in six years as opposed to 600. The real star of the show is the grounds. It is acres and acres of park and governed forest. The area would take days to explore on foot, by bike or by horse but its is just amazingly beautiful. The Inn on the estate is just fantastic. We had a corner suite facing the grounds and the pool. You can see the Biltmore Home itself off in the distance. The sweeping views and the over-the-top customer service make this an Inn worth the price tag. Yes the rooms are designed to look in keeping with the Estate, so don't expect high-end modern decor. The decor is charming, old world and utterly luxurious. Our room was spotless and very updated but subtle.
I recommend the Inn package so you skip the lines as you tour the mansion itself. The restaurant at the mansion was really good. It uses lots of estate grown and produced foods. It was a crowded weekend and so there was a half hour wait. After touring the mansion, we went to the winery. I recommend the "premium" tasting to avoid the crowds. It's only 8 dollars more and you get to sit in a quiet part of the winery. We had reservations at the Bistro at the winery for dinner. The trout was really good and I usually dont like fish. We both really liked our meal. Less formal than the dining room at the Inn but still romantic and very good.
Breakfast the next day was good but could be a bit better. Local fresh eggs, salmon, fruit.
I've stayed in a lot a really nice places. This wasn't as opulent as the Intercontinental in Vienna but still very good and worth the expense. What really struck me was just how good and consistent the customer service was at the Inn. From the valets to the front desk, everyone was polite, helpful and solicitous. It MADE you feel as if you were a Vanderbuilt guest from the old days. Kudos to the staff and management for excellent 'old fashioned' customer service!

Room Tip: Corner suite to get the views worth the added expense!

We stayed here in mid-August 2012 and everything was perfect. We had booked an executive suite with adjoining room as there were 5 of us. The space was perfect for traveling with teens and decor and cleanliness were excellent. We also had amazing views of the mountains and gardens. They also gave us a nice gift basket upon check-in, very nice touch! The hotel and grounds are amazing, you cannot take a bad picture here, and being so convenient to the restaurants/shops and the Biltmore Estate was a big plus. The staff was very attentive and friendly and went over and above to make sure we felt welcome and at home. We ate our first night in the Dining Room, the food was very good and they went out of their way to cater to our Vegan guest, even creating a special meal and dessert just for her. We ate most of our meals on site and they were all very accomodating and the food was always delicious. Also, breakfast on the terrace each morning with the mountain views was heaven! I tried out the spa, enjoyed a hot river stone massage, highly recommend although spa was very small compared to most places we have stayed so may want to book early if busy season. We've stayed at several high end resorts in the past and this was one of our favorites. We cannot wait to go back!

Only caveat: Shuttle service is very spotty/slow, better to drive to/from your locations if you don't enjoy waiting 20-30 minutes for shuttle. And the drive is beautiful!

Room Tip: Try to get a mountain view and/or suite, it is well worth the extra cost!

From the time we arrived and were greeted by our valet and bellmen until we left 4 days later the service was impeccable. We had dinner in the dining room and had a wonderful 5 course meal presented by our server Hank. We had the breakfast buffet which was very good. We look forward to our next visit.

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend at the Inn on Biltmore. From the time we arrived, we experienced amazing service. The accomodations were luxurious and so comfortable. We booked a Premier King room which is a little larger than their average room. When we arrived we were offered a mountain view room wheich was perfect. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the main dining room each day. It was delicious! Having unlimited access to the Biltmore Estate during our stay was a nice perk. My biggest complaint (and it's not that big at all) is that there was no where to sit and read a book outside and not be completely in the sun. The beautiful rocking chair porch is used for dining after 11 am. The reason for our trip was to celebrate my completion of radiation for breast cancer. The radiation has caused my skin to be extremely sensitive to the sun. I would have loved a shady place to be outside. But really, thats just a small complaint. We had an amazing time and look forward to returning in the future.
