“Great place for live music and drinks!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2013

My husband and I saw a couple of bands at Jack of the Wood on a Friday night. Wine is a bit pricey (8 bucks a glass!) but the beer was priced much better. It's a cool place to hang out with lots of nooks and crannies. Service was pretty good, fairly friendly, especially on a busy Friday night. We saw food coming out of the kitchen and it looked REALLY good. We talked to a local who was eating a burger that looked amazing. She said that the food there isn't your usual "pub grub" and everything is really fresh and they like to use local ingredients. Next time, we'll eat dinner there!

“Shepards pie”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

Amongst the music and song with a wee lilt to it. Have a pint while you wait on some of the greatest pub food. High gravs are on the menu and the draft selection is awesome with quite a few local brews. The music goes on, live local musicians sit on stage and pound out the music brought to the Appalachians by our forefathers. My fav, the Shepards pie comes out piping hot and delicious. The whole family was happy. If you are not a meat eater, go upstairs to the laughing seed.
