“Glad we tried it once”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2012

We enjoyed our actual meal of a Bison burger and a Lamb burger for dinner the Sunday before New Years Eve 2012-2013. We were a bit disappointed with the lack of brew selection after we had visited their web-site and they made it appear they had a larger selection of local brews than they actually did once we were there. Also, the prices were a bit high for what was more of a seat yourself where ever you can and not a fancy menu. Good for one visit but I might try other esablishments before visiting again. Waiter and service were top notch though!

“Neat pub”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 25, 2012

Neat bar with good selection of local brews. Loved the scottish egg! Cheese tray was overpriced for what you got, only three pieces of cheese for $14. Thirsty Monk is across the street with tons of beers and cheaper food.

“Decent value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

We enjoyed lunch at Jack of the Wood during recent visit to Asheville. My husband enjoyed an excellent bison burger and the beer batter was nice and crisp on my fish. Good spot to hang out and enjoy a local brew. Wish we had had time to have enjoyed live music in the evening - a good reason to return.

“Pub Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

We were looking for a place to grab a decently quick bite downtown and located Jack of the Wood. This is a pub and had a decent beer selection and live music in the evening. The food was pretty good, I thouroughly enjoyed my fish tacos and the appetizer of nachos was wonderful. If you have reasonable expectations for pub food and a decent selection of beer, I think you should stop in.
