“A great stay in Asheville”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

This is definitely a trendy W style hotel. I was traveling on business solo. I really enjoyed the sleek design of the room and all the amenities of the hotel. It was quite comfortable.

The only glitch I had was they were cleaning the carpet during one of the days of my stay, so the room was a bit humid. But at least they are maintaining the place.

I loved the pool and the fire pit at night. If you are in to a bar scene, it's active there in the evenings. I preferred to curl up with a glass of wine by the far quieter fire pit.

Centrally located downtown. Super friendly staff. Parking is on premises and only $ 5 a night. A fun place to stay.

We visited Asheville for a long weekend and loved staying at this centrally located hotel. We took a cab from the airport and walked the rest of the weekend. There were no shows the weekend we visited but the Orange Peel music venue is super close. Most of the Ale Trail breweries are also within walking distance. We like to get a workout in so if you're somewhat active, you can also walk to the Biltmore House, which is about 2.5 miles away. After all of that walking, we liked relaxing at the rooftop pool before heading out for the night, which was a really nice perk. Aloft is close to all of the downtown restaurants, shops and galleries so you will have many options within a very short walk. The hotel is dog friendly but unlike other reviews, we did not hear a single bark. The rooms are clean but they only have shampoo and body wash pumps in the shower so if you usually travel light, you might want to bring extra toiletries like lotion and conditioner. The second floor lounge is convenient and has a cool vibe - the coffee shop and bar were usually our first and last stops of the day.

I travel to Asheville weekly and Aloft is a hotel of choice. Clean comfortable rooms, stylishly appointed and a great walk in shower. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in walking distance of a number of very good restaurants. The Aloft has a nice lounge for a drink and light bite & is a good place to watch the ball game.

Room Tip: double queen rooms have a bit more closet space than a king

The hotel is in a perfect location and is clean and modern. That being said, if you are allergic to, afraid of or dislike dogs, this is NOT the hotel for you.
Dogs everywhere! At the pool. In the bar. On the furniture. Barking in rooms... You get the picture.
We got a great room with a great rate over a holiday weekend by using their best rate guarantee. We saved more than $30/night over their best rate. Not sure it would be worth it for over $200/night.
We had a great view of the pool and mountains. The room was spacious. I liked the funky (albeit cheap) decor. I like the Bliss products in the bath and the "Green" pumps in the shower instead of wasteful little bottles.
Service at the bar was excellent. The bartender remembered us and our room number which was very convenient.
My big complaint is the rooms need soundproofing. We were awakened multiple times by loud partiers in other rooms and especially those with cabanas outside, as well as barking dogs. Kind of a bummer, but we didn't have to get up for work or anything, so not a deal breaker.
Also, even though the weather was very hot, the pool was pretty cold.
I'd still recommend the hotel because I don't think there is a better location in the area.

Okay, Aloft is a super cool hotel with arguably the best downtown location in Asheville. That said, there were dozens of barking dogs. Owners decided to leave their dogs alone all day and night. There was hardly a moment when you could hear dogs barking. Even though not having quite time when I wanted the location and staff were great. If you choose to say at this location, you must add earplugs to your packing list - maybe a couple of sleeping pills too.

Great hotel. Great location. Easy walking to restaurants and shops. The hotel itself has lots of fun things to do it is an attraction in itself. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We can't wait to stay in another Aloft property.

A friend recommended Aloft Hotels, as they are pet friendly and we usually have pugs in tow. He said they were funky and fun, too, which was an added bonus, and said one was coming to Asheville

We were staying at another hotel when we noticed the grand opening for the Aloft. They showed us around, and I was sold just from that.

It has a fresh, modern look, very clean and not cluttered. On the third floor there is a pool on the roof, a fire pit, and...a dog walking area. We made plans to stay there when we came back in February.

The rooms are small, but large enough. They are bright and cheerful and have everything you need. There was plenty of room for the dog's crates and you could easily walk around them--it wasn't cramped, at all (and trust me, some hotel rooms are). They thoughtfully placed us in a room very close to the roof door, so walking the pugs did not involve elevators or stairs.

There is a nice bar, as well as a coffee area and a coffee shop (the coffee area is free and the coffee is very good). I did not see a restaurant, per se, but there might have been one.

You can easily walk to anything in downtown Asheville, so there is no parking problem.

All in all, it is perfect. I had no complaints and look forward to our next visit.
