Description: SkyBar: Asheville's Rooftop Bar and Skyline View. Discover Asheville: A Rare and Beautiful Place! rooftop bar Our skyline view Have you been to Asheville? Be sure that you make plans to visit us. Once here, you'll find yourself totally amazed at how wonderful this place is, with the mountains, beautiful downtown, and our unmistakable mountain vibe. Over the past few years, Asheville has become very well known for our culinary cool, our burgeoning beer scene and our thriving artistic community. On top of that, we have hundreds of miles of panoramic vistas, parkway drives, waterfalls waiting to be discovered, and an amazing downtown scene. Visit us and you'll see why all the locals think that Asheville is an unforgettable escape from the daily grind. During the summer, discover toe-tapping adventures along the new Blue Ridge Music Trail. Get yourself outside, explore our backyard, find outdoor adventures that will have you zipping across mountaintops or riding over river rapids. And, there's always the Blue Ridge Parkway! We all love to take leisurely drives along the Parkway to grab as much breathtaking beauty of mountains, vistas, waterfalls, rock-faces, and wonderful mountain air. Unique bar that was actually a fire escape of a very old building in Asheville. An elevator man takes you up to the 8th floor and you can choose to stay on the level or go down to 7th or 6th floors. A great view for a sunset. Busiest on Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

“Clever idea!”

The perfect kitschy place for a kitschy town! Feels like a secret exclusive place. It should have a special handshake. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the smokers. The wind blew it right on us. But I'll definitely go again.

“Great view ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

One of the best spots for an after dinner drink. Pricey but interesting enough to pay for the view. Staff are very nice. Only one person at our table even ordered anything and the waitress was super nice. That's the kind of place I will go back and spend money.

“Pretty View but I Expected More”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

The building is straight from the 1920's and you enter the bar first by taking an old elevator up to the top floor. I will be honest here, I expected more. The idea is very cool but they have some work to do still to make this a more enjoyable spot. The lights were out and it was very difficult to see. The service was incredibly slow but I don't blame them because it's hard to tell when people come and go. Once we found a table the atmosphere was enjoyable. Hopefully they continue to improve this place, it has potential.

“Awesome place to chill”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013

We found this place while looking for a place to chill on our first night out in Asheville, and this place was spot on. When you first walk in you will find an elevator that can take like 6 people up at the time. So you might be waiting some minutes on the lobby floor, but once you get up they will walk you around the place and let you know how everything works. The place has both outdoor seating and an indoor lounge so you can go where ever you are in the mood for. The views are not spectacular, but with good music at a good volume you get to share with those around you. But I am not done yet, the drinks are quite out of the ordinary, you are presented with very safe options for mixed drinks, but they also have a variety of their own mixes and all of the ones i tried were delicious. Overall, I recommend this place if you are just looking to chill in Asheville.

“An evening atop the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2013

Absolutely unique and incredible experience. Venture through the old, operator managed elevator to the top of the flat iron building for an evening overlooking Asheville. Make sure to get there early if you want a seat (otherwise there is standing room on the very top level). The beverages were average and they were a bit understaffed when we were there, but the sunset over the mountains couldn't be beat!
