Description: SkyBar: Asheville's Rooftop Bar and Skyline View. Discover Asheville: A Rare and Beautiful Place! rooftop bar Our skyline view Have you been to Asheville? Be sure that you make plans to visit us. Once here, you'll find yourself totally amazed at how wonderful this place is, with the mountains, beautiful downtown, and our unmistakable mountain vibe. Over the past few years, Asheville has become very well known for our culinary cool, our burgeoning beer scene and our thriving artistic community. On top of that, we have hundreds of miles of panoramic vistas, parkway drives, waterfalls waiting to be discovered, and an amazing downtown scene. Visit us and you'll see why all the locals think that Asheville is an unforgettable escape from the daily grind. During the summer, discover toe-tapping adventures along the new Blue Ridge Music Trail. Get yourself outside, explore our backyard, find outdoor adventures that will have you zipping across mountaintops or riding over river rapids. And, there's always the Blue Ridge Parkway! We all love to take leisurely drives along the Parkway to grab as much breathtaking beauty of mountains, vistas, waterfalls, rock-faces, and wonderful mountain air. Unique bar that was actually a fire escape of a very old building in Asheville. An elevator man takes you up to the 8th floor and you can choose to stay on the level or go down to 7th or 6th floors. A great view for a sunset. Busiest on Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

“Best views in the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012

This little gem isn't open every night; you have to check the sign at street level. If they are open, you will enter the building and hop into a 1920s elevator (complete with cage and elevator operator). The elevator takes you to the buildin'g roof terrace, where you are treated to spectacular views of the city, the mountains and the sunset. The bar is run by an owner/operator who serves as server, bartender, hostess, etc. She makes a mean cocktail. Order the drink special of the day and you won't be disappointed.

We had a blast, met some really cool people and got great tips on other things to do in Asheville. A major big thumbs up.

“Nice view, interesting drinks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012 via mobile

Sky bar is a great place to grab a drink if you are ambling around downtown Asheville. The view is nice and they have interesting drinks- including infused liquors. I tried the ginger-peach whiskey on the rocks and it was very tasty!

“Go for the view and charm of a bygone era.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

After a day of brew pubs and art galleries, my partner said to me, "You know what Asheville really needs? A rooftop bar!" At that moment, we rounded a corner and saw the sign for "Sky Bar." The elevator ride, complete with attendant, is worth the stop in itself. We arrived well before the sunset crowd, so we were able to score one of the few tables and order a lovely glass of wine. You almost feel like you're at some new/old speak-easy; it's a bare bones operation with minimal staff, perched on what appears to be an expanded fire escape. The Flatiron Building itself recalls the luxury of the 1920's, and certain aspects don't appear to have changed too much since that time. We didn't try any food, but the view is really why one goes to the Sky Bar.

“Gorgeous sunset views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2012

The Sky Bar is an amazing spot located right in downtown Asheville. It is relatively informal with people standing on the balcony, hanging out and having drinks. When you get there grab a spot on the railing so that you'll be well positioned to see the whole view when the sun begins to set. We didn't have any food but enjoyed two of their signature cocktails with infused liquors. Take a picture of the spectacular view but don't take your eyes off the horizon because the sun sets quickly!
