This would be very interesting for a person who's in to music. Our son is, but we all enjoyed it. The tour must have been a really big one compared to usual, because a lot of employees commented on that. I think there were 30 of us. You really get to see everything & play in the store, get there a little early, they close up during the tour. Be sure to notice all the names on the carts in the factory, they are funny!

The tour was fascinating and our tour guide knew his stuff but explained in a simple way. He was really nice to us. If you are into music I highly recommend it. I learned a lot.

Hubby loves anything technical, so he jumped at the chance to take a tour of the Moog factory facility in town. The tour was free and informative. They are a successful US company making Moog products for the music industry. Although the founder Bob Moog passed away in 2005, the company continues to innovate and grow. A small store in the entrance area offers an array of shirts, mugs, books, and technical gear for visitors. Courteous staff made for a pleasant visit!

An awesome, relaxing contrast to hiking through the mountains. Call ahead and put your name on the list for a tour here and enjoy an absolutely unique view of technological innovation and musical genius. The worst part about the tour was my severely increased desire to buy a synth, but I do wish the tour featured someone extremely musically gifted demonstrating all the instruments. While the sights and discussions were superb, I wish the sounds would have been featured much more prominently. Honestly, if a Moog musician accurately and thoroughly demonstrated the sounds of their newest synth, I probably would be kicking myself for not buying a Sub Phatty on the spot.

If you are in Asheville and love any kind of music, you must make sure to pencil in a visit to the Moog Factory. It's free, so there's no excuse. We called ahead to reserve spots on the tour, but it didn't seem like the guy was turning people away. Tours are given at 10 & 3, Monday through Friday.

The tour lasts about an hour, and you get to see the factory floor and folks constructing Moog instruments while learning more about Dr. Bob Moog and even the fascinating Leon Theremin. I liked seeing the Sound Lab where famous musicians get to try out the instruments. The gift shop is also swell as well, with t-shirts and other items like pint glasses, flash drives, chocolates, and journals up for grabs. The best part was that you can actually play all the Moog instruments in the gift shop! Cool, uniquely Ashvegas experience!
