“Great stop after a long drive”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

The hotel was very clean and quiet. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The shower had good water pressure. The location was away from downtown Asheville, but just a 10 minute drive to be in the heart of everything. The bed wasn't the most comfortable though.

Checking in at this hotel felt like checking in to a Bed & Breakfast. Cookies were available in the front lobby, and the front desk (who may have been the hotel operators) was more than willing to help us find a good local pizza delivery restaurant.

The room was in good shape and the breakfast offerings were plentiful - I would recommend this as a good value hotel to stay in.

While we have stayed at this property and have been pleased in the past, I must say we will NEVER again stay. The premises seems safe, but our car as well as another family's car was broken into overnight, with items stolen and windows completely shattered. The hotel was less than accommodating in helping to resolve any issues and I was told by the police officer who greeted me at my door this morning to inform me of the break in that this was not a first time occurance and that the hotel had been instructed to add security cameras which they had not. Be warned that even though this hotel may be slightly lower priced it isn't worth it. Service also needs to be improved as the staff was awful in dealing with this.

We are very sorry for the breakin you experienced while in Asheville and we have responded to your concerns through other channels. I am afraid you were misinformed about unsafe activity at our hotel. Breakins at our hotel are very rare but any breakin is very unfortunate, but reflect the society we live in today. Please accept our apology for this incident and we hope you will come and stay with us again. By the way, we do have security cameras.

this is a very nice place to stay. the hot breakfast featured several freshly cooked items such as sausage scrambled eggs biscuits pancakes. the hot breakfast was a very good value. it is very well located. the only question I would have is why the chain built a hotel. in the mountains with only an unheated outdoor swimming pool-the country inn we stayed in kingsland Georgia had only an indoor pool and it is much warmer all year round in Georgia.

Seriously, the Country Inn and Suites by Carlson franchise is oversold in the Asheville market - with three locations in a market this size, there are too many of them - so the rate's going to be a little lower than at, say, a Hampton Inn or a Comfort Inn or a Holiday Inn Express. But here, you get a hotel, and a room, that's every bit as good, maybe a little more so.

This one is worth doing. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfortable.

I probably gained ten pounds while I was there, but that was mostly my fault: the breakfast is hard to say no to. You get biscuits and gravy, eggs and sausage every morning, and there's lots of fresh fruit; not your usual-usual 'free continental breakfast'. And there's coffee around the clock, and chocolate chip cookies, all fresh. It's right across the highway from a mall, and there are lots of eating places around, but you don't really need them. (You'd be surprised how well you can do at the deli next door at Ingles supermarket for maybe five bucks . . .)

I ended up spending most of a day there without a car, and it rained the entire time - which had the effect of both messing up some of my plans for that trip and leaving me pretty much trapped indoors in the room - so I didn't get to go out much. (There's a car rental place next door, but they noticed my drivers' license was expired - had to fix that problem when I got back home . . .) Still, there's a pool if you're there some time of the year besides January, a nice, clean exercise room where everything works, and I'm pretty sure I saw a picnic table in the 'back': a nice, quiet outdoorsy setting shielded by lots of trees in the middle of suburbia.

Something like that is a unique feature that's worth a lot if you want to chill out in the afternoon so, if I were staying several days (or even just one night), I'd pick this hotel even if the rate were a little higher. This is a Country Inn and Suites that has a part that actually looks a little 'country' in an appreciated kind of way.

The location is pretty handy: it's close to I-40, and the Asheville airport, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Room Tip: I've stayed at this property a couple of times, and haven't gone wrong with a room yet . . .

This hotel is a very comfortable, clean, and friendly. Our room was quiet and the bed was cozy. The breakfast was very good and had a large selection of both hot and cold items. The cookies in the lobby are a nice way to end the day before bed! The location is very convienient - just 2 miles off of I-40. We will definately return!

Its like everybody says, great staff, good rooms, great price. We found this hotel the same or better than Hampton Inns that we usually stay in, but a lot better and more reasonably priced. We took advantage of their discounted Biltmore Estate tickets they sell there, which saved us some time. We will definitely be back, its our new hotel of choice.
