“Unreal”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2010

We complained about the limited parking (had to park at Howard Johnson's next door) and the Innkeeper took it as a personal affront, screaming obscenities at my boyfriend in front of other hotel guests; it was crazy!

My boyfriend and I named a very inexpensive price on Priceline and ended up with the Baymont Inn. It was simple and clean, and just three stop lights down from the entrance to the Biltmore Estate. We were trying to save money on our hotel to compensate for the $52 entry ticket into the Estate so this was perfect for us. The front desk staff was helpful. Also, I accidentally left my jewelry bag behind in the room, and the housekeeping staff returned it. The front desk shipped it back to me quickly and without any problems. I was impressed by the customer service in a low-cost hotel.

My husband and I recently stayed 2 nights at the Baymont Inn & Suites Asheville/Biltmore. We found our room to be clean, comfortable and quiet. We had a room with 2 queen beds and received a great AAA rate of $80/night. The free breakfast included hot waffles, yogurt, cereal, etc., etc. The breakfast room, though, is too small and doesn't have enough tables. We had to wait to get one. Some folks took their food back to their room. The hotel's location is great - just 2 blocks from the entrance to the Biltmore Estate. We would recomend this hotel for anyone who's visiting the Biltmore.

I read the reviews on TripAdvisor as always before choosing a hotel. This was definitely a great location for visiting Biltmore, downtown Asheville and surrounding areas for my husband, stepdaughter and myself. However, I wouldn't rate it as a 4 star on here or a 3 star AAA hotel. It was acceptably clean but not sparkling, very small bathrooms in the rooms, declining wallpaper and carpet in the public areas, a pretty good rate of $130/night I suppose for the location with 2 queen beds, the breakfast was more like the continental and less like the "free hot breakfast" touted, and the beds were uncomfortably firm. We just felt it was OK. My husband said wow, we've had such good luck after researching other people's reviews.....but I guess this time we just didn't quite agree with all the other reviews here.

What a great hotel! We have stayed at many 4 star hotels, and this one was just as good if not better. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The pool sparkles as does the bathroom and jacuzzi tub. Front desk staff is very friendly. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of cereals, muffins, eggs, sausage, biscuits and waffles. Overall it was a great deal for the price we paid and the proximity to the Biltmore Estate. The first night we were there the hotel was completely booked. But once we entered our room, it was as if we were the only ones there (no noise at all, not even traffic).

My husband and I just returned from 4 nights in Asheville and had a wonderful time and loved the Baymont Inn! The bed was so comfortable and there were many pillows, a refrigerator, microwave, flat screen tv, and free internet. My husband just loved making a warm waffle everyone morning. There was a lot of variety at the free breakfast. I especially loved the hot tub. The entire pool area was very warm, so it was nice to walk from the warm pool to the very hot (but wonderful) large hot tub and there were plenty of towels. The lobby also had chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal raisin. The location was just fantastic. It is right off 25, and there is an entry to the blue ridge parkway off of 25. We walked to the Corner Kitchen in the Biltmore Village for dinner one night. It is really close, as is Texas Road House, Arby's and a few others. The hotel provides some discount coupons and plenty of maps. The Biltmore Estate is just a few minutes away and getting to town is very easy and quick.
Just a few words about the other things we did: 1- Biltmore Estate, (be sure to get the vanilla ice cream at the farm), 2- Biltmore Village, 3- drive along Blue Ridge Parkway and lunch at Mt. Pisgah Inn (great trout!), new visitor center 4- segway tour at the NC Arboretum- wonderful!!!, loved the bonzai exhibit as well, 5- LaZoom tour, 6- shopping downtown and esp. the chocolate at Chocolate Fetish (they make it all themselves).

We stayed at the Baymont Inn because it seemed to be the best choice when selecting a hotel after arriving late in the evening in Asheville. We tried to get a room at the nearby Sleep Inn but no one was at the desk. After waiting for several minutes, we went across the street to the Baymont Inn thinking it would be reasonably priced - and we were right.

The young man at the desk was friendly, efficient, and professional. Check-in was quick and easy and he helpfully got us a room that would be quiet and on a lower floor without batting an eye. The price was reasonable for the hotel's location next to the Interstate and to Biltmore. There is a gas station, I believe it was a Shell station, that is right next to the hotel, as is a Texas Roadhouse restaurant.

Our room had double beds and was a decent size, but not as larger as other rooms at comparable chains. The linens and room were clean and the Internet connection was excellent. The beds were comfortable. Our stay was quiet and restful.

The continental breakfast, though, was mediocre. I recommend going down the street to Bruegger's Bagel for a fresh, delicious bagel instead.

If you plan on staying the night in Asheville after getting off the Interstate or if you want to visit Biltmore, then this is a convenient and well priced option.
